Medium beige head. Lovely reddish coppery body. Fruity earthy malty roasty aroma, impressively harmonic, with grassy hoppy cinnamon notes. Dry-sweetish earthy roasty malty taste with caramelly notes. Mild, smoothish mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dry earthy toffeeish aftertaste with grassy metallic notes. Very nice, highly drinkable. (0.5l bottle from some Kiel supermarket.)

(Rating #3874)

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2005 500 ml screwcap bottle, bought in Bier Spezi Hamburg. Typical dunkel reddish brown colour, decent pale greyish brown head. Pleasant malty sweet aroma with notes of caramel, toast and bakery. Mellow nutty flavour with notes of dark bread and caramel, tolerable hops for a dunkel (Hallertau, Spalt and Tettnang). Nice.

Pours out cloudy dark brown with steady creamy head and medium to smooth body. Nose of malt and bread. Taste of dark grains, leaves, malt, caramel and apples. Well balanced carbonation makes it combined with the mild, smooth taste easy and nice to drink. Solid beer.

50cl Bottle from bierkoning, thanks Edo! ABV is 5.1%, BB 01-2013. Dark reddish brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of rye, pumpernickel bread, chocolate. Flavour is quite sweet, ryebread, chocolate, just a tiny hint of coffee, chocolate finish. Light-bodied. Decent, just a bit too sweet.

Ehrlich gesagt überhaupt nicht überzeugend. Etwas dumpf mit einer leicht muffligen Mitte und ein klein wenig angefaultem Malz im Hintergrund. Geht so.

Countbeer (6222) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - NOV 13, 2011
Bottle: Medium pretty vast off white to very light tan head, disappears pretty quick. Dark amber colored beer with ruby shine. Smell prunes, malts, caramel and nuts. Taste is a bit weak; darker fruits like prunes, bit metallic, malts, soap, grains and sweets. Grainy sweet prune aftertaste Low carbo, low to medium body, watery mouthfeel and a light watery texture
