Amber color with a small white head. The nose is lightly grassy with some strawberry and caramel malt. The taste is light floral hops, more caramel and orchard fruits. Fairly simple, clean flavors. Overall, OK. Nothing special. I don’t think this is a mild, mind.

Called a mild, but is a bitter to me. Dark gold with mid body. Fruity and sweet with light hoppy bitter.

Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, 30 April 2009. Described n the festival programme as a "dark mild" but more of a copper colour really. Pleasant caramel aroma. Smooth and easy drinking. More caramel/toffee in the flavour than roast. A bit sweet. Fairly solid but didn’t really grab me. Not a patch on Beijing Black.

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Kentish Town, London, 20 May 2010) Nut brown colour with brief, beige head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with notes of dark fruit, slightly toasty malt and dusty hops. Malty, nutty taste with dark fruit, bready malt and dusty hops. Below medium body, balanced sweetness. Tasty and well balanced session ale.

Cask at the Southampton Arms on 18th May 2010. Brown with white head. Quite sweet with a fruity aroma and a touch of citrus hitting the roof of the mouth. Slightly watery texture and a sweet fruity aftertaste.

On gravity at the Reading Beer Festival, 01/05/09. Amber coloured with a slight, off-white head. Sweetish mild with some red fruit, a hint of lichen and not much else. came off worst amongst the milds sampled at the festival, and not a beer to be revisited.

Cask@Ealing BF. Pale mahogany in colour Quite light and sweet, with surprising notes of vanilla and a slightly mossy, earthy character. Some grainy malt sweetness comes through as well.
