3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very dark color with a little off-white head. The nose is funky, with grassy hops vying for attention with sweet chocolate, raisins and pepper. There’s an interesting tang to this dry, medium sweet pint. Like a jot of worcestershire sauce was added right into the brew. The body is medium and slightly watery. This isn’t your average mild. While not for everyone, I appreciate how much flavor they seem to get out of the modest abv. Good work.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 29/11/2011. Near black with next to no head. Dark fruit and coffee aroma. Flavour had some more fruit and bitter chocolate, with slightly sour fruits and a short, bitter finish. Good.
