3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at GBBF. It pours deep ruby, with a medium white head. The nose is dark fruit, slight sourness/malt vinegar, roasted malt and liquorice. The taste is caramel, dark fruit (particularly cherry and red grape), wood, vinous aspect, liquorice and cola, with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Smooth and rather drinkable. A solid mild.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very dark color with a little off-white head. The nose is funky, with grassy hops vying for attention with sweet chocolate, raisins and pepper. There’s an interesting tang to this dry, medium sweet pint. Like a jot of worcestershire sauce was added right into the brew. The body is medium and slightly watery. This isn’t your average mild. While not for everyone, I appreciate how much flavor they seem to get out of the modest abv. Good work.
