Black, lots of ruby light through, rich tan head
Aroma - soft roasted malts, dark caramel malts, soft chocolate, slight sour note
Taste - soft roasted malts, dark caramel malts, milk chocolate, milk sugars, rich dark toffee malts, mellow, no hops
Palate - very soft carb, medium body, really smooth. Finish - soft lingering chocolate toffee malts
Overall - This was a really nice mild - perhaps edging to a porter

Cask at Cloisters. Dark brown with a resilient tan head. Notes of chocolate. Slightly tart dark chocolate finish. Pretty flavoursome for a mild.

Cask @ Cloisters. Almost black colour, reasonable head. Strong liquorice malt aroma. Dry sour milky liquorice flavour. Sour roasted malt aftertaste. Not my thing.

On cask at Cloisters. Pours a dark brown colour with a decent tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel and alcohol. Similar flavours with a dry finish. Moderate carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. Lingering chocolate. Tasty.

Very dark color with a little off-white head. The nose is funky, with grassy hops vying for attention with sweet chocolate, raisins and pepper. There’s an interesting tang to this dry, medium sweet pint. Like a jot of worcestershire sauce was added right into the brew. The body is medium and slightly watery. This isn’t your average mild. While not for everyone, I appreciate how much flavor they seem to get out of the modest abv. Good work.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 29/11/2011. Near black with next to no head. Dark fruit and coffee aroma. Flavour had some more fruit and bitter chocolate, with slightly sour fruits and a short, bitter finish. Good.
