Cask Conditioned at The Oliver Cromwell, St Ives, Cambs. Golden beer with heavy bubbly head. Interesting and a little more complex for a Golden Ale, dry dusty hops, leafy and with an agreeable hint of stinging nettles. Dry and bitter but there is a vague metallic flavour within, a little like iron tablets. A very good beer.

Cask (Market Porter, London)
Slight tea, then sweet tobacco aroma. Soft palate. Fruity esters initial taste, later it’s more malty, and with a slight breadiness. Aroma gave cider-vinegar after a while, and apple. Some honey-like cakey aftertaste.

Bottle. Golden with a white head. Aromas are zesty citrus with yeast and peppery notes. Flavours are biscuit malts but mostly fruity with citrus sourness. Creamy with floral notes. Dry and hoppy on the finish.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2011 Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Leicester BF. A golden coloured beer with some citric hop in the aroma and maybe a little spiciness. The taste is nice and dry and lemony hops again. Decent stuff which apparently was very good on Day 1. (6,3,7,3,14). (3.3)

Cask conditioned - handpump - Fox and Hounds Northampton. This time the beer seemed so much fresher. The hops were more pronounced in both nose and taste. Lots of grapefuit sharpness. Very tasty and easy to quaff. (7,3,8,3,15) (3.6) Score is an average of the two.
Subsequent ratings scored 2.8 and 3.4. Score unaltered

Cask handpull, The Raven, Bath. Dusty gold with a white rim and lace dabs. Good soapy bitterness, silk, tropical hints, cashew afters. Simple hoppy stuff, a bit vegetal round the edges. Solid.
