3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pint from cask at the Royal Blenheim in Oxford. Pours an amber gold. Smells of English hops with some fruity citrus notes and malt -- a little weak, but all right. Tastes of toffee, some fruity esters, and bread with a pleasant hop bitterness. The flavor isnít strong, but itís well balanced. Light bodied, but doesnít feel too thin (for a bitter). Bottom line: a good session beer, but not terribly interesting or complicated (but better than some).
