Handpull, Whitefriars, Coventry, 22/02/12. Pale ruby with a milky beige top lining the glass. Aroma of dried grapes and berries; Campino sweets, a dab of Flemish acidity. Soft, malty, slightly tanging at the edges with redcurrant, vinous and faint chocolate notes. Rodenbach with the sour and iron turned down. Praline spread on a digestive finish. Potbelly are a bit useful at balanced, malty bitters with something of an oaked, aged tang in the background. Here’s another one.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 21, 2011 Cask conditioned - handpump - NBC Club Northampton. A ruby coloured bitter which was served without a sparkler but had a huge head which had completely disappeared with in minutes. The aroma was berry fruity malty and a bit sweet. The taste was more of the same. The malty sweetness dominates to the extent that it has a little German Doppelbock quality. A nice beer but like the head the freshness of it is short-lived. Score 3.2
Subsequent rating scored 3.6. Average becomes 3.4

Cask@Reading BF. Malty and sweet, with s light green apple character as kook mentions, some hoppy citrus in the finish, i had it on two occasions at the festival and on the first day i seemed to like it more, the next day its condition seemed to have deteriorated.
