Brewed for the chez Léon mussels/French fries chain, and also for the Brussels Airlines. Léon beer is pale and full-bodied. It has been specially concocted by Master Brewer Jean Pagura in collaboration with the Alken-Maes brewery to create a delicious combination to go together with the Belgian and Brussels dishes served at chez Léon. This beer is unique because it can only be tasted at chez Léon in the rue des Bouchers where it is served in a large, round glass, specially designed for it. It is the result of a clever mix of pale malts, spring and winter barley and rare hops from Germany and the UK . It derives its whole personality from a final addition of sweet and sour orange peel. This Belgian high fermentation beer is served from the barrel and is 7.2°. It is brewed at Jumet in the installations at the ancestral Union brewery.

Draft at some touristy restaurant in Brussels. It was included in the price for a meal so why not.. Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma of grain, cardboard, light spice and light malt. Flavor is light sweet and bitter. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Annnnnd.. Back to Moeder Lambic for something with flavor...

Very standard Belgian blond beer. Not too good in itself, but it bring back memories from the nice food at ’Chéz Leon’ in Brussels where it is served,

Tap @ Chez Leon, Brussels.
Pours pale golden with a small, frothy, white head. Good lacing. Aroma is sweet, light pear, doughy, some yeast. High carbonation, okay dry mouthfeel. Flavour is mildly metallic, sweet, doughy, light apple. Fine light and mild bitter finish. A good beer to drink with good food. Too bad that the Chez Leon "food" was absolutely horrible!

On tap in Belguim at Chez Leon. Pours a clear yellow color with a very long lasting white head. A spicy and malty nose. The flavor is very smooth and nice; a smooth fluffy palate, malts, spicy and yeasty. some citrus. Very Nice.

Clear golden colour with an average white head. Spices and some malt in the aroma. Medium sweetness and some hops in the taste, very drinkable. It might get a bit flat at the end. Light body, average carbonation. Short after taste. Overall, good to have with the mussels.

Has a dry hoppy aroma with some vague grain notes. Has a decent solid head and a normal gold lager colour. Taste is lots of bread and grain, with a dry finish. Nothing interesting, but it has a reliable lager taste.
