COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed for the chez Léon mussels/French fries chain, and also for the Brussels Airlines. Léon beer is pale and full-bodied. It has been specially concocted by Master Brewer Jean Pagura in collaboration with the Alken-Maes brewery to create a delicious combination to go together with the Belgian and Brussels dishes served at chez Léon. This beer is unique because it can only be tasted at chez Léon in the rue des Bouchers where it is served in a large, round glass, specially designed for it. It is the result of a clever mix of pale malts, spring and winter barley and rare hops from Germany and the UK . It derives its whole personality from a final addition of sweet and sour orange peel. This Belgian high fermentation beer is served from the barrel and is 7.2°. It is brewed at Jumet in the installations at the ancestral Union brewery.

On tap in Belguim at Chez Leon. Pours a clear yellow color with a very long lasting white head. A spicy and malty nose. The flavor is very smooth and nice; a smooth fluffy palate, malts, spicy and yeasty. some citrus. Very Nice.

Canned, Darker blond, light amber coloured with some small carbonation and a small white head. Malty sweeter aroma with some light alcoholic touches. Full sweeter creamy palate. Finish is bitter fruity malty with some light sweeter alcoholic touches. Not bad.

Can. A golden beer with a lazing white. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of sulphur and straw. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, fruit, and alcohol. Good body. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Had this on a flight yesterday on Brussels Airlines. Came in a 250 ml can so had to ask for two. Best beer I had on a plane, although this is not saying much. Good orange colour (not best shown off in plastic glass), tart, citrussy nose, 7% strength, quite well-balanced. Sweetish aftertaste but not excessive. Would not drink this in Belgium on the ground.
