Potosi Pure Malt Cave Ale A long time favorite during Potosiís heyday, this is an Amber Ale that has a distinct malt character and a bit more assertive flavor profile which is comparable to an English Pale Ale. This is a medium bodied beer that is not over the top in any respect. Appearance: Deep Amber. Aroma: Malt and Caramel, slight floral aroma from Golding hops. Taste: Malty, light caramel, medium body. 6.5% ē 14P ē 10 IBUís #PotosiBeer #PotosiCaveAle

Pretty good beer from the tapper. Malts, caramel, even some grains in there with mild roasting. Good overall ale.

Slightly murky brown. Nose of light rye bread and caramel malts. Taste follows with some peppery spice, harsh weird finish. Not good.

Bottle from atom as a trade extra which I appreciate since I have new found vigor for trying new breweries. Light copper pour with grainy nose. Tastes grainy, earth bitters, light pepper, and tea. Stale palate. Reminds me of the Polotmavy Iíve been seeking.

Bottle, thanks George999! Aroma is basically all caramel malt with biscuit malt and very little hops. Pours clear amber colored with a thin white head and some lacing. Starts with a lot of sweet caramel malt flavor with a bit of biscuity malt. Finishes smooth with the caramel persisting on the palate for quite a while after the sip with a slight hop content. Decent.

bottle. Poured clear amber with a filmy white head. Aroma of sweet bread with a slight herbal hop note. Medium body, average carbonation with a creamy mouthfeel that finishes just a little sticky with mild bitterness. Mainly malt flavour, sweet caramel and light toasted notes, alcohol is well hidden.

12oz bottle pours a clear Amber/orange with a small white head. Yeasty caramel malt aroma, with citrus and cider. Taste of stale oat bread and malt, too sweet caramel, and a stranger bitterness. Gross.

Pour from the bottle is clear golden amber in color, the aroma is malts almost like oatmeal, taste is malty hints of Carmel and strong wheat/grain flavor, finish is mildly sweet. Not sure ale is an appropriate label

This is not a good beer, letís just get that out of the way. It is sweet and wierdly fruity, sort of vaguelly hoppy and all kinds of strange tasting. It is orange and very slightly hazed w/ a quickly dissipating head of mixed bubbles. Smells of cherry or something kind of like cherry and a bit of citurs but itís not as good as that sounds. This is a little sticky and heavy across the palate w/ moderate carbonation and finishes w/ lingering sugar sweetness and some earthy bitterness. I am glad that I only got one bottle of this one.

tmoreau (3055) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - NOV 24, 2014
UPDATED: NOV 25, 2014 12 oz. bottle poured to a goblet, showing a clear, orangey gold color, with a presentable layer of soft white head foam that quickly diminished to light film, and an almost non-existent ring, with some spotty lacing. The nose was light grain, with light caramel & stone fruit sweetness. Light to medium bodied, with decent carbonation, the taste combined sweetness & tartness with a moderate, earthy & rind-like bitterness that together lingered into the finish in a manner not sure of direction, and not totally agreeable on the palate.
