2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled. Poured clear, brilliant golden with a white head. The aroma picked up kind of dank bread and grainy notes with dusty earth and light floral accents.. clean, but almost to a fault because it was very reserved. The flavor found bread and honey sweetness at the core, with toasted grains laced throughout.. spicy and floral accents were interesting, but a touch sharp.. lemon zest and medicinal notes joined the spicy stuff on the fairly assertive finish. Light-bodied with tighter, prickly carbonation on the palate.. decent balance.. drinkable, but not great.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Says "Czech style pilsener". Well 6% abv is already a bit high. 12 oz twist off bottle purchased cold from the brewery.
It pours pretty much like a czech pils, hard to get that one too wrong.
It smells like a blonde ale, not a czech pils.
The taste is closer to a czech pils than most but it still is too sweet and too undeveloped.
American brewers REALLY need to taste czech and german pilseners, because they are reaching when they call their beers czech or german style.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draught at the Potosi brewpub in Southwestern Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear golden yellow colored brew, some carbonation bubbles with a thick white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind excellent lacing. Aroma of golden grain malt with grassy hops,a hint of white pepper and crisp crystal malt. Taste is light to medium bodied, sharp grassy hop bitterness with golden grain malt and some extra carbonation. Finish is semi-dry, grassy hop bitterness that slowly disappears. Much hopper and less fruity than the regular Potosi pilsener. Definitely a solid Czech style pilsener.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at Old Fashioned. Filtered pale yellow-peach. Thin non-head. The noble hops carry it, while the malts are a little fruity and it displays sort of Ale-like tones,,not very Lagery..or true to style. Not outright bad, just sort of amateurish. Not one I’d seek out again.

Very bread based in every way, decently malty as well. Probably the best Potosi beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a very pale golden with many effervescent bubbles. The head is of a medium size, retains it’s self well, and leaves a nice lace on the glass. The aroma is fairly faint but has notes of fresh hay, wildflowers, and a light toastiness. The beer has a bright malty flavor, very clean, very crisp, and moderately dry with a nice mild dose of spicy hops. There is a sort of a perfumey character to the flavor of this beer that throws it off a tad, but overall I like the flavor of this beer quite a bit.. The beer finishes a bit watery but the carbonation is soft and very pleasant.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle from a mix-six - Really, really wanted to like this beer, as I’m anxiously waiting the release of New Glarus Two Women and am looking for fresh pilseners wherever I can find them. Unfortunately, even though I believe this was fresh, it just wasn’t all that good. It pours nice enough--clear yellow with a big fluffy white head and little champagne bubbles floating up. The nose, however, disappoints. Grains, light sweetness, and very little hop presence. The taste was worse, with real grainy malt, corn syrup and honey, and a slight herbal hop finish. Feels dead in the mouth, and real slick, odd given the massive head. There’s just not much to like about this beer--even if I just want something to drink with a burger, the sweetness here doesn’t work.
