COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The birth of Pilsener beer can be traced back to its namesake, the ancient city of Plzen which is situated in the western half of the Czech Republic. The Czech Pilsener is light straw to golden color and crystal clear. Hops are very prevalent usually with a spicy bitterness and or a spicy floral flavor and aroma, notably one of the defining characteristics of the Saaz hop. Smooth and crisp with a clean malty palate, many are grassy. Some will show some archaic yeast characteristics similar to very mild buttery flavors and aromas

Nice clean and refreshing Pilsener. Golden in color, clear, minimal head, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, Overall I really enjoyed this beer. I’m surprised it isn’t rated much higher.

Consumed from Bootle with a lime offered. So might want to scroll past. 6 percent a bit high boost for my liking. Semi Sweet doughy malts. Lime from the lime I chucked in. Soft malts. Bit of herbs and a nutty doughy bread finish. Drinkable.

Bottle: Clear gold with a quick white head. Scent is grain, barley, light fruit. Taste is barley...a little cornflake, slightly bitter pils, lemon. Pretty dry...a little stale, but not too bad.

12oz bottle brought back from the Midwest. Poured a clear golden yellow color with a small white head. Aroma was notes of biscuit, malt, some light earthy hops. Flavor was crisp lagered beer - sweet malts. Pretty good, easy to drink and despite it being a bit high, sessionable.

Bottle. Corn/barley malt and hay aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet corn/barley malt, hay and lightly bitter herbal flavor. Decent body. More like a mediocre pale lager.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2014 12 oz. bottle. Stored cold, looks fresh. I keep going back and forth on this one. If it is my first beer of the night, it seems pretty good, but if you drink a Czech or German import first, then not so much. I do not get the fresh grain aroma and taste from this beer, it tastes like an adjunct beer. Also, it does not have that typical Czech ester character that I am looking for. Not bad, but not smooth, crisp or Czech as stated in the description.

Straight up bad beer. Really nothing redeeming about this one. Was unfortunate enough to add this to a build-your-own six pack.

Picked up on a visit to the brewery and restaurant. Went great with the warm pretzel, brat burger and beer cheese soup. The National Brewery Museum is worth a tour. This pilsener is smooth, crisp and clean with a malty finish.

Bottled. Poured clear, brilliant golden with a white head. The aroma picked up kind of dank bread and grainy notes with dusty earth and light floral accents.. clean, but almost to a fault because it was very reserved. The flavor found bread and honey sweetness at the core, with toasted grains laced throughout.. spicy and floral accents were interesting, but a touch sharp.. lemon zest and medicinal notes joined the spicy stuff on the fairly assertive finish. Light-bodied with tighter, prickly carbonation on the palate.. decent balance.. drinkable, but not great.
