Poured a nice very deep red with minimal head and lacing. Aroma was nice mix of sweet malts with light coffee roast and prune hues. Taste is mainly of malts - roast and coffee/prune light hues with a nice smooth light hop finish. Palate was very nice with good viscosity. Overall, an extremely nice porter from the foks at good ole Potosi!

Caramel, chocolate, vanilla, notes deep brown color. Very good, easy drinking. Clear beer drinkers, this will help you understand that all dark beers are not scarey.

12oz bottle via trade. Pours a dark brown with a medium sized off white head. Aromas of light coffee, caramel, some dark fruit. Taste is semi sweet and lightly bitter. Flavors of artificially flavored caramel mocha frappachino but with a noticeable alcohol level. Unacceptable at this ABV. Continuing on we have some dark fruit and mettalic elements. Not a great beer by any stretch. Finishes sweet and fruity. Meh.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This is my second beer named Gandy Dancer, the first being a Golden Ale from a local brew pub. I find that thereís also an Impy Stout in Youngstown, Ohio, a California Common in Burlington, Vermont, and a Gandy Dancer in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for which four beers have been added to the site, yet all remain unrated. Interesting (or not). On to this Gandy Dancer...
It pour4s a deep chestnut body with the slenderest of tan heads. The aroma is dark caramel, some chocolate, and a dull earthiness. It seems a bit thin, slightly watery. The flavor is much like the aroma, a bit light. The finish is quite abrupt. Just okay.
Thatís two Gandy Dancers down and six to go.

Brown and clear with a off white fizzy head. Aroma of dark coffee and veggies or grass? Anyway this is a good drinking porter. Flavor of caramel, cocoa, and coffee, some lactic presence as well. Lighter body, makes it easier to put a few more of them away.

Iíd put this kind of on the line between a porter and a sweet stout. Itís kind of a homely brew, red brown w/ almost no lasting head but it doesnít taste bad at all. It has a sweet, milk chocolate character, which is why I say it reminds me of a sweet stout, but it doesnít really have the strong roasted character Iíd expect. This is a little bit sticky on the palate for my tastes but otherwise, itís a pretty good beer.

Nice dark brown color, slightly opaque. Soft aroma with mostly sweet notes. Full body with strong crystal malt influence and coffee flavors. Finishes clean for a robust porter.
