Snake Hollow IPA. Style: West Coast IPA . Appearance: Light Copper . Aroma: Caramel aroma; hardy, rugged/pungent hop aroma (from the columbus hops), with hints of citrus and fruit (from select west coast hops). Taste: Medium body, caramely sweet, lingering robust bitterness. Hops: Columbus, Amarillo, Simcoe Dry Hopped with Columbus hops. 7% ABV• 15P • 70 IBU’s. Snake Hollow was the original name of the Potosi Hollow and here we have a brew with real character. It is an Inda Pale Ale, which according to tradition requires the plentiful addition of flavorful hops during the kettle boil. Subsequently during the aging process additional flavoring of hops are introduced into the storage tank to provide fine aromatic hop character. This sturdy ale will satisfy the many hopheads among the new age of beer aficionados. #PotosiBeer #SnakeHollowIPA #IPA

12 oz bottle from Hy Vee Wine & Spirits - Muscatine. Golden orange and clear appearance with a small beige head. Aroma of citrus hops, pine, floral notes. toasted grains, light toffee/caramel and light herbs. Similar flavor, moderate to heavy hop bitterness and minimal to light malt sweetness. Medium body with a crisp feel and a lingering, dry finish with a touch of alcohol. Decent, but kinda of hard to drink after a while.

All the proceeds from this go to charity so the brewers might be good people but they sure do make some garbage beer. This one is perfectly clear orange w/ a small head of fine white bubbles. This claims to be an IPA but isn’t really terribly hoppy, esp. in the nose. I get a bit of caramel and grain and you can’t really tell there’s much of the way of hops in there until you get to the strong, earthy hop bitterness in the finish. I suppose this does provide balance to rather sticky, heavy sweetness but really that’s enough that nothing is going to save this beer. Needless to say, I am not a fan. I recommend you do not buy this.

Bottle poured a clear amber with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of caramel, earthiness, orange zest and light pink grapefruit. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of caramel, earthiness, light grapefruit zest and a hint of pine with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.

A clear, golden pour with a white head. The aroma has floral and pine hop notes. It has a light, crisp body with almost fizzy carbonation. The taste is bitter with a dry finish.

Look: pours burnt gold color. Thick white head that fades quickly. Very clear beer. Lacing fades into the glass as time goes on. Smell: citrus. Pineapple, orange, sweet citrus. Slight bitterness after the sweetness. Taste: light citrus. Pepper flavor. Can't taste the alcohol at all. Slight bitterness. Feel: slightly thicker mouth feel. Overall: smell us delicious, but taste just doesn't jump out like an IPA should in my opinion. Watch for the abv it will sneak up on you. First drank: home June 29, 2014

Bottle. First taste was a milder IPA, not overwhelming. The flavor become waterier and the palate more metallic after awhile.

12 oz. bottle from my buddy’s rehearsal dinner at The Madison Club. Pours a somewhat cloudy orangish gold with a finger of white head that stays as an uneven small film and thick ring. Notes of grass, citrus zest, pale and crackery malts, florals, and a squeeze of soap. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a bitter, citrusy mouthfeel. Good IPA but not memorable.

Light copper color. Lots of head but very little lacing. Floral & pine aroma was promising but mouth-feel was thin with an odd after taste. Not a fave.
