12 oz. bottle. It pours a dark orange color with a shrinking orange head. The aroma is pleasant with rich dark fruit. Plums, raisins, figs along with some banana and sweet bubblegum from the yeast and some toast and cocoa. The flavor is sweet and full bodied with more raisins and plum with heavy bubblegum. The finish is a bit too sweet with more bubblegum and flabby maltiness. Mild spice and fruit. Decent beer, but not close to the classics of the style.

Bottle thanks to gas4uguy. Dirty, hazy garnet with an almost instantly dissipating beige head. Bread, dried dark fruit aromas. Vanilla, toffee, cherries and plums.

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby red, very light lacing. Spice cake and gingerbread aroma. Heavy sweetness right away, wow. More spice, a bit of dried cherry, and sweet chocolate notes. There is a little tang in the finish. I love sweet and malty, although this one takes it to another level. Enjoyable but very heavy.

Bottle:   Deep amber, small to moderate sudsy off-white head, little lacing.   Soft biscuit and caramel on the nose.   A little musty.   Biscuity with a touch of cough syrup right up front.   Has that immediate intense syrupy sweetness, but it goes away quickly.   Not as barnish or musty on the tongue.   Pretty simple, bready, some caramel, a bit nutty, biscuit, with a quick cough syrup flavor, all while being a touch thin.   Not as rich or heavy as I would have thought for a Dubbel.   Lacks dark pitted fruit.   Tiz okay, but seems a bit light.   Thanks Bob!

From a 12 oz bottle poured in a tulip. Pours flat cloudy dark ruby with no head and no lacing. Almost no aroma. Flavor is clean and fruity and slightly sweet. Notes of vanilla and caramel. Abrupt watery finish. Inoffensive but unexceptional - itís just a little too clean and polished, could stand to be more tart, juicy, or even bitter. It almost tastes like a bock.

Copper with a thin tan head. Aroma of toasted malt, toffee, fruit and yeast. Taste of bubblegum, dark fruits, Belgian yeast and caramel. Not bad.

12oz bottle poured into a Jolly Pumpkin & Maui Brewing Sobrehumano tulip. Pours a ruby brown with a small head that fades quickly. Too dark to see through the beer. Aroma is strong with uncontrolled Belgian yeast esters (sweet rotten pear) and some mild earthiness trying to take the edge off the crazy sweet candy esters. Flavor is a bit more doable with slightly subdued esters that come off more like very ripe pear mixed with estery caramel. Has a bit of a spritzy finish, again to take the edge off the beer. Bottom line: another American beer that doesnít know what to do with a Belgian yeast, particularly for a dubbel.

Yeast, spices, dark fruit, a little sweet. Tastes similar. Sweet, malty. Very smooth and creamy.

Pour from bottle. Unclear ruby brown. Small lasting off-white head - full ring around glass. Nice full Belgian aroma, Malty sweet, yeast, spices, dark fruit, caramel, chocolate. Medium body. Soft. Nice sweetness, malty, fruity. Accompanying spices are well balanced. Alcohol is noticeable and almost gets in the way but not quite. Tasty. Glad I picked some up.

Pours clear amber with not much head. Aroma is mostly just malty. Very big on the malts, lots of caramel mainly, little hint of chocolate that I probably would not have recognized if i had not read the bottle. The yeast profile adds a bit of Belgian banana yeast type flavor to it. Slightly sweet but not to much. I really enjoyed this more than I though I would. A well balanced beer that really doesnít do anything wrong. Would love to see it again.
