On draught. Looked superb with a billboard head that lasted. Unfortunately let down by the taste which is too bitter, almost sour.

06/03 Draught at Zum Nussbaum, Berlin, as Potsdamer Rex Pils. Beer had clear pale golden body with medium sized head. Fine flowery aroma, sweetish, slightly acidic. Bitterish flavor, some typical industrial German pils cardboard, some honey malt in the background. Medium body, watery texture. Finish was medium, sweetish honey and bit of herb-cardboard hops. It’s completely OK for me, a bit lower quality German pils.

Draught at Zum Nussbaum, Berlin.
Poured a pale golden colour, medium white head. Honeyish and vegetabley nose. Very light sweetish taste, honey and some vegetabley hop again, light bitter aftertaste. Emm, no.

Bottle. Golden with a decent white head. Sweet, malty aroma with some tired hops. Flavour dominated by sweet corn with an industrial, bitter finish. The worst beer of my trip to Berlin.

Alc. 4.8%. Clear light to medium yellow orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, grain, hay, toasted, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090926]
