3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Wolfbass (515) - Firenze, ITALY - NOV 16, 2011
Colore ambrato con schiuma evanescente. Al naso leggero caramello. Anche in bocca il caramello la fa da padrone, e infatti risulta quasi noioso.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 reebtogi (1551) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 8, 2011
330ml bottle poured dark brown color with a finger of creamy beige head with good retention leaving some fine lacing behind. Aroma of caramel and roasted malts. Taste is malty sweet with a roasted malt bitterness and hops in the finish. A very nicely balanced ale which is a little different than most of the Belgian ales I have sampled. Recommended.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 prawlie (474) - Berkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 5, 2011
33 cL bottle from ABS Drinks in Winksele poured into a Westmalle glass at home. Brown, dark red when held up to the light. A good creamy, bubbly head. Strong spiced, fruity, sweet and licorice aroma, a bit of bubblegum. Sweet, candy sugars, no hint of it being 8% from the taste! A hint of oily alcohol later, adding some depth. Pretty nice, but ultimately a little one diminsional.
