On tap at Mekong on 11/11/2010. Hazy amber body with a medium rocky tan head. Sweet dark fruit and caramel aroma with some molasses and belgian spice. Sweet dark malt and rum soaked fruit with caramel and belgian spice. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

750 ml corked bottle. A hazy dark brown beer with a large, frothy/fizzy mostly diminishing beige head. The aroma is moderately malty, lightly hoppy, lightly yeasty. There are notes of toasted grain, caramel, chocolate, candy sugar, herbs, plums, dates, a hint of alcohol, perhaps a hint of figs. The flavour is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly sour, lightly bitter. Medium to full body, velvety/creamy texture, lively/fizzy carbonation, long finish with medium bitterness, lightly alcoholic. A very pleasant beer with maybe only a not persistent head and excessive sugar and carbonation, but a fruity, complex aroma, a good balance and well hidden alcohol. Somewhat underrated

Bottle from Tanakaya. Fruity, chocolate cookie aroma, cinammon, brown sugar. Dark orange-brown with a tall, fine, fluffy head. Sweet and malty, with dried fruits, chocolate, cookies, rich, savory malt, pears, and something like rum or jenever too. Alcohol bites a bit. Also a bit of a ornge-chocolate tang and some bitter hops in the finish. Reasonably complex and well balanced.

Bottle from Beer Temple. Dark brown with nice puffy head. Nice nose of malt, citrus and caramel. Really tasty ale taste of malts, toffee, dark fruits and caramel. Enjoyable.

Served on draft at Mekong in Richmond, VA. Pours a clear copper color with a large creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Fruity aroma with notes of berries, apples, some maple notes and a bit of paint thinner. The taste is green apples, berries, maple, green bananas, brown sugar and a bit of a chemical note. Medium bodied. Weird, odd and disjointed.

Orange-brown coloured. A big head, holds just not long enough to be real good, sticks ok to the glass. Something very pleasant at the smell, can’t tell what it is, but it’s something sweet-woodish. Also some sourness and spices comes up. A bit weird smell, but not bad at all. Sweet taste, a bit unpleasant mouthfeel, to much carbonation. The taste is pretty decent, sweetness, some fruits and yeast. Some very nice roastiness and spices. That pleasant thing from the smell comes trough also. Like this one, a little surprise for me. Good sweetness, light biterness at the end. Something weird dry.

Bottle back from greensboro. Pour is a muddy brown with some long lasting lace that stays in your glass. Earthy, belgian yeast aroma with a little bit of caramel as well. Flavor reminds me much of a barleywine with some molasses and a syrupy sweetness. Slight cocoa texture and flavor. Rich malty drink here.

Aroma sweet fruity malts with hint of alcohol. 7-
Appearance hazed amber-brown brew with white top and good lace.
Flavor and Palate : medium light bodied. Alcohol , dried cherries bit flat in character. Boring finish.
