Sampled on 5/14/2010. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a medium to dark brown color from a 33cl bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head, with nice lacing and good retention. The aroma is dark fruit, banana, yeast and sweet. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are brown sugar, molasses, banana, dark fruit and sweet. The hops are earthy. Nice carbonation. Good balance. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Bottled. Ambery brown colour with big creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts, some nuttyness, mild toffee and some spices. Flavour is much the same with some wooden and fruity notes aas well. Balanced.

Bottle at home. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a huge foamy off-white head that lasts for ages and leaves lots of lacing. Aroma of bread, licorice, dark sugary malts and some spices. Flavor is very nice sugary sweet with spicy bitter in a delicate balance. Some more licorice and spices in the finish. Lively carbonation and a creamy texture. Great brew.

Bottle. Caramel colored beer with a huge tan head. Caramel and toffee aroma. Toffee and caramel flavor with yeast, spice, and light earthiness. Medium-plus bodied. Toffee and spice lingers with caramel. A bit drier than I usually like, but good.

ChainGangGuy (3682) - Canton, Georgia, USA - APR 1, 2010
Appearance: Hazy, dark amber body with a ½ inch head of whitish foam. Craggy lacing on the way down. Smell: Toasty, dark malts in the nose. A few cherries, a few plums, and a few raisins stirred up with a cup of sticky dark brown sugar and a tablespoon of ground spices. Taste: Fairly robust maltiness delivers deep, personal tastes of brown sugar and toasted bread crusts dosed with a hearty dash or two of dark candi sugar. Flavors of plum and lightly tart cherries soon follow. Very small hint of bitterness makes its presence known. Hints of clove and aniseed for a bit of spice. Semi-dry, warming, effervescent finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-high carbonation. Drinkability: A fine, enjoyable BSDA that’s a bit sweet, savory, and fruity. What the hell more do you people need?
