In short: A sweet fruity roasted Belgian dark ale. A lot of stuff thrown in. Pleasant but unfocussed.
How: Bottle 330ml, probably around 6 months old
The look: Opaque brown body with a large beige head
In long: Timid nose of earthy caramel. Extra yeasty, fruity esters are all over the place (name one fruit itís there), very dusty/rusty, burnt caramel, brown sugar and pleasant nutty notes. Taste has a lot to offer but somehow I felt it didnít stick together and I moderately enjoyed it when focussing on the roasted nutty flavours. This is the type of beer that no two person will agree on the description... and on the pronunciation.

33cl bottle @Kaisla, Helsinki. Dark brown in color, thin white head. Aroma has dark fruits, spicy notes, dough and caramel. Heavy sweet taste, licorice, bread and dark fruits. Alcohol is well hidden, but overall not really to my taste, too sweet as well.

Bottle. Very weak aroma. Outstanding redbrown color with a sturdy, creamy head. Flavor is unique. Tastes like malt, dirt, wood, a bit like berries. Alcohol is very evident. Lingers in the mouth forever. Not bad at all.

Sampled at Zythos 2009. Malty decent strong dark Belgian ale. OK. Last beer of the session for me. Man behind the bar was very kind and gave this to me for free

11.2 oz bottle. Pours a clear light brown body with a very large frothy light beige head that slowly settled. The nose is lightly chocolaty and roasty with a good bit of Belgian Yeast. A light note of alcohol as well. Itís main flavor profile can only be described in a generic word, "Belgian". Fizzy, frothy, fruity, and yeasty. The hallmark of generic Belgian beers. Thereís a light chocolaty undertone to the flavor, but itís mostly that melange of Belgian fruitiness of raisin and plum that makes up the heart of it. Sort of a cross between a Belgian Porter and a Dubbel. OK, but not a beer worth a second purchase.
