3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a hazy copper with a thin off-white head and a nice, spicy hop aroma. Strong malt backbone - light sweetness and definite toastiness - with more great spicy hops. Bold yet nicely balanced - very fresh tasting. Moderate body with decent carbonation - I think I kicked up a bit of sediment in my second pour (the remainder of the 650ml bottle) which caused it to be a bit creamer than intended, but no complaints. Very solid local offering - and I love the freshness!

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft - Fresh sweet pine. Clear gold with a thin white head. Very resinous and dry, but a well balanced bitterness. Nothing spectacular but very solid and easy drinking.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Boston round from the brewery. Pours a glowing golden orange with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma: Super fruity. Grapefruit, orange, hints of banana, cherry. Subtle hints of spice - cinnamon, cloves. Palate: thick bodied, smooth, fizzy, long finish but not too dry. Taste: Sweet start. Subtle bitterness in the finish. Really really nice. Reminds me of a lot of the Scandinavian IPAs Iíve had.

Sampled at HOPoxia 2013. Hazy copper with frothy head. Toffee, caramel syrup, grapefruit, pine and resin. Chewy, earthy malt body with potent, slightly medicinal bitterness. Sharp finish. Bright aroma; fresh, organic taste. Bold.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark amber pour with a fluffy white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, grapefruit. Full bodied with a great silky mouth feel. All malt at first with loads of caramel and toffee. Pine and grapefruit comes out mid palate. The finish is quite bitter with a bit of lingering sweetness as well. For me the hops donít cut the sweetness enough making it a bit messy.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
650mL bottle, pours a hazy copper with a small white head. Aroma is on the maltier side for a IIPA, with syrupy caramel malts, resinous hops, fresh red fruits, and some citrus fruits. Flavour is extremely fruity and malt-heavy as well, with under-ripe berries, syrupy caramel malts, and then some citrus and resinous hops fight their way to the front. Something doesnít mesh so well here - the under-ripe berries are quite pronounced and the malts are quite syrupy. The hops arenít that far forward - perhaps not enough were used to balance the malt? Anywho, itís decent, but quite flawed. Good local attempt at a IIPA, but needs refinement.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver
Amber color, darker shade, hazy, with creamy head, quite persistent. The arom ais interesting, very hoppy-forward; initially fresh fruity and zesty, with some citrus fruits; then an earthy and sweaty component joins in. The mouthfeel is quite dry; flavor of malt and toffee, quite strong, turning into some caramel later; the hopping is strong, with powerful bitterness and bold aromatic components; a lot of piney resins, citrusy fruitiness, bergamot, and medium earthy character too (soil and yeast). Long final, with tongue-scraping hop resins.
Powerful, still a bit rough, but with some fresh and fruity components.
