A twist on a traditional English Pale Ale. Caramel and English Pale malts were combined with the floral, citrus, and grapefruit notes of the North American hop giving this ale a very distinct sensory profile.

Bomber. Clear bright lighter copper, firm off-white foam settles and lasts. Aroma is mostly floral, citrus and pine. Foresty floral citrus hop forward taste, lightly sweet toasted caramel malts behind. Average carbonation, medium bodied, well hopped. Quite tasty but: NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

Cask - Sweet orange and tropical fruit. Cloudy copper with a decent beige head. Muted tropical fruit, some Woody notes and a dry bitter finish. Smells divine, but cask kills the brightness of the hops. This is pretty normal and unfortunate.

Cask - Pale malts and some vegetal notes. Cloudy copper with a nice beige head. Nice light malts, light bitterness and a long finish. Very classic English style pale.

Hazy amber, hoppy-toasty aroma, mellow bitterness, lots of caramel sweetness, not particularly bright. I like Powell a lot, but this isn’t one of their better beers.

To coin a pretty popular word these days, this beer is extremely "sessionable". Pours deep copper with small off white head. Nice citrus up from, some caramel and finishes slightly bitter. Mild carbonation, almost creamy. An Englsih style ale with a twist. My only knock is this beer lacks some complexity.

En fût à la brasserie. Couleur orange/caramel avec un col moyen blanc. L’arôme doux d’houblon et malt torréfié avec un peu d’agrumes. Le goût est du malt et caramel avec un amertume moyenne, mais légèr pour le style. Carbonation moyenne.

Poured out of a 1 litre bottle bought at the brewery for $9.75 Canadian. Look: It may be a pale ale but it pours dark copper colour. Smell: citrus, grapefruit, pine without being like a branch in the mouth. Taste: Toasted caramel malts, citrus near the end and a bit of bitterness. It’s easily a session beer, but enough complexity to feel like you’re still in special territory.
