Indra (1828), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Dec 30, 2007 Draft at the brewpub, served in a nice-sized stem glass. Big, sweet, citric aroma, some pine and flowers, sugary malts and toasty grains. Hazy medium copper color, head fades entirely, lacking any lacing as well. Flavor profile is predominantly hoppy, huge pine and citrus throughout, some lemon and floral touches. Largely dry and grainy otherwise, with a good bit of malty flavor but a low degree of sweetness. Big bitter finish, plenty of hops noted throughout. Palate is smooth and low in effervescence with an oily, resinous feel. Body is medium-full. Not bad at all. Gregis (904), Overland Park, Kansas, USA Dec 18, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold with a frothy white head. Pale malt, citrus and spicy hops are on the nose with the latter carrying notes of faint garlic and onion. Light bodied and soft with a dry, lightly bitter finish. Unique, the flavor profiles the spicy hops overlaying pale malt and concluding in a lightly dry, bitter finish. This is a very drinkable IPA. While the hops dominate the flavor, in my mind, it’s almost more of an APA.
