Burrobuns (71), Columbia, Missouri, USA Jul 9, 2007 I think this is the right place for this rating. This was a cask aged IPA on tap at the brewpub. It came nitro tapped, which I had never had in an IPA before. Aroma is light and floral. Taste is very hoppy with strong floral and light citrus flavors. Finished pretty bitter. Very big surprise and very good. Sledge Jr (2693), Omaha, Nebraska, USA May 26, 2007 (Cask) On tap at the Parkville Microbrew Festival. Pours a hazy light amber with a thin white head. Very low carbonation. Aroma is an outstanding hoppy citrus grapefruit scent. Big orange Tootsie Roll flavors. Really good chewy thick palate to the end. Smooth and very low carbonation. A delicious beer that was one of the standout best at the festival. csbosox (948), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Jul 5, 2006 Not sure if this is the same IIPA, probably not, but Power Plant is sketchy on details, so I’ll just combine ratings. On tap. Spicy, piney aroma, some citrus. Grapefruit, pine taste. Centennial? Moderate to strong bitterness. Earthy, piney finish. Not on nitro (thank God). Indra (1818), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Jan 17, 2006 On draught at the brewpub, served on nitrogen (which was a little surprising). Aroma is fairly light and features some citric fruitiness, some grapefruit and lemon apparent alongside some gentle pale malt sweetness and lightly doughy touches, some light pine and flowers far in the background. Dark golden color, lightly hazy with a slight head, fine head and leaves some stratified lacing after the nitro fashion. Flavor is quite bitter from beginning to end, starting with only a mild burst but culminating in a truly profound bitterness and seeing some juicy, citric flavors and Crystal-like malt sweetness on top of the lightly astringent, acidic hoppiness. Pretty simple character overall but certainly is nicely hoppy and fruity. Mouthfeel is smooth, refreshing and lightly watery, body is medium. Definitely not bad for a nitro ale, all in all, but could certainly use some depth.
