kwoeltje (1313), Manchester, Missouri, USA Apr 24, 2008 (draught at the brewpub) black with light brown head. Aroma of roast coffee. Flavor is roast malt, coffee, and some chocolate. A tad light in body. Soonah (900), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Apr 9, 2008 A thin pour that was almost black. Some tiny hints of ruby on the edges. Tan to dark tan head was quite thin. The aroma was lots of roasted malt, coffee and smoke. The flavor is nice roasted malt, smoke, coffee and maybe some light chocolate. Some residual sweetness was noted as well. The mouthfeel was on the thin side. The finish nondescript. Burrobuns (80), Columbia, Missouri, USA Jul 9, 2007 Decent stout. Black with nitro tap, which I am used to from Flat Branch Oil Change. Nice coffee and chocolate flavors without tasting burnt. theisti (1640), Leawood, Kansas, USA Mar 30, 2007 On tap at the brew pub. Aroma is roasted malt and coffee. Taste has the roasted malt at the front, and some dark cocoa sweetness in the middle / end. The coffee is in the background. Pushed with nitro, so it had a bit of a false "smooth" texture. csbosox (1076), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Jul 5, 2006 On tap. Aroma is coffee, roasty, mild chocolate. Taste is roasty with some coffee. Average brewpub stout. vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA May 28, 2006 Tap at St. Louis Microfest - Pours black with a soapy deep tan head. Roasted dark chocolate malts and light bits of expresso on the aroma - all has some creamy hints. The mouthfeel is medium / light - much lighter than I expected from the aroma. Lots of charred malts and some chocolate. The thinness of this beer for being what it would be. If this was thicker the flavors could have packed more of a punch. An okay stout, but overall disappointing. sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA May 28, 2006 On tap from the St. Louis Microfest. Dark and opaque with a huge tan head. Biscuit and coffee nose. Sugary with notes of toffee and caramel. Strong coffee astringent flavor. Bitter chocolate and anise. Dry finish. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA May 16, 2006 tap at st louis microfest. black nitro poor with a 1/2 inch fizzy tan head. nose is smokey, very roasty with alot of char. flavors of anise, char, roast, coffee grinds, and expresso. body is medium with some velvety feeling-pretty good for a nitro. nice dry finish. Very akin to the style. A very nice robust irish dry stout that i could sit and have some pints on a cold KC day.
