This was one of the better beers they had on tap. A very enjoyable summer beer. Light and delicate citrus nose, with some coriander and clove. A crisp body, with some light wheaty cereal malt notes. On the dry side, and very easy to drink, could use a bit more body, but overall very tasty.

On tap at the Brewery. Normally a style that seems plain to me, this beer was a bit surprising. Nose had light esters, was very clean, and had a good wheat malt tone forward. Straw colored, with some cloudiness and a white head with ok retention. Flavor was citrusy, light and had a good wheat character as well. Complexity was good, wish I had a little better notes to describe it. Light bodied with a med carb texture. Overall it’s a clean beer, easy drinking without a lot of the poppy notes that make a lot of these whits taste like alcoholic 7-up.

(Draft: Powerhouse Restaurant & Brewery in Puyallup, WA) A pretty standard brewpub witbier, the mild wheat flavor is enhanced by prominent coriander that lends some light bitterness before the flavor drops off in the mild finish. Sweetness is appropriately kept to a minimum. The nose is mostly wheat aroma, with the spices not making much of a contribution. Light bodied overall, and the finish is fairly thin and watery. Cloudy, pale straw in color. Very small white head leaves some patches of lace on the glass before vanishing. Not a style I enjoy that much to begin with, and on top of that, it’s not even average.
