Bradrcr (617), Renton, Washington, USA Aug 31, 2008 7/27/08 on draught at the brewpub. Aroma is excellent balance, on the sweet side. Appearance is hazy copper with a well maintained cream colored head. Flavor is a sweet citrus blend with low bittering. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a medium carb texture. Overall, simple but fairly easy drinking. riversideAK (1653), Shoreline, Washington, USA Aug 11, 2008 Floral and citrus hops in the aroma. Pours amber with a thin head. Juicy citrus flavors of lime, lemon, grapefruit are followed by floral hops. Malt is light and unobtrusive yet provides a nice balance. Nice hoppy ale. Probably their best. BlackDonald (1039), North Carolina, USA Jul 19, 2008 Great little take on the style, loads and loads of floral fresh hops. Delicious, with a nice complex hoppiness, lively fruit and a well balanced malt backbone. Remains dry and crisp, and masks the alcohol extremely well. Great session pale ale. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Sep 1, 2005 (Draft: Powerhouse Restaurant & Brewery in Puyallup, WA) A seasonal ale, Ezra has some serious issues with a funky aroma. I tried a new glass, just to be sure, and yeah, it smells like used athletic socks. I can also detect a somewhat sweet, grainy, and caramely aroma, plus some mild alcohol, but it takes some significant concentration to pick up anything behind the funk. Flavorwise, this comes across as a slightly amped up amber ale. It’s sweet and caramely, and balanced by a moderately bitter that seems to pick up steam in the finish. Alcohol can be detected, but isn’t terribly noticeable. Medium "plus" body, lightly carbonated, with a crisp, yet full finish. Hazy and amber in color. The off-white head gradually settles to a broken film, and deposits plenty of patchy lacing on the glass. Pretty decent flavor, but the nose is a real turn-off initially. Fortunately, as I drink more of the beer, the funk mellows a bit and becomes less of a factor, though never fading totally.
