Powerhouse Münich Lager

(Draft: Powerhouse Restaurant & Brewery in Puyallup, WA) Caramely and quite sweet, this smells like a bock beer, but it’s also somewhat fruity just to muddy the apparent style. But the flavor is all sweet caramel, with no signs of any fruitiness, so this definitely seems like a mild bock. Modest bitterness in the finish, but it doesn’t seem the slightest bit hoppy. Fully bodied, with a substantial and slightly sticky mouthfeel. Deep, ruddy amber color is gorgeous, and the off-white head leaves a lot of patchy lacing as it gradually settles to a broken film. Perhaps a bit sweet and caramely, but still pretty nice.
