Roasted aroma of coffee with a light sweetness. Dark brown pour with a tan head. Flavor is dominated by roasted malt and coffee. A moderated sweetness comes and goes. Pretty robust and roasty. Pretty good if you like coffee.

Powerhouse does a very nice job at delivering quality beer from a small one location brew pub. I have sampled every offering they have made over the years and this is the one brew I keep coming back to. Itís like a comfortable pair jeans that just feels right when you put them on.

Night blackness in the glass with a feint chocolate head. Sharply roasted coffee presence immediately infiltrates the olfactory consciousness. Robust roast barley and black patent body. Smoke. Anise and charcoal. A complex roasty porter that one would hope for when a brew calls itself a roasted porter. This one delivers.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a thin off-white head. Has an intense coffee aroma. A big roasted coffee flavor with an interesting coconut finish. Lots of milky mocha coffee flavors linger.

Draft at the brewpub. Black. Opaque. Headless, laceless. Still. Roasty and chocolatey nose. Light, watery body. Big roasty, chocolatey mid-palate with some definite ash notes in there. Needs more body but tastes quite good.

Immediately notice the Henry’s coffee in the nose. Bitter, dry and roasty with ints of coffee, chocolate and cocoa. Slightly acrid with nothing but coffee on the palate, the coffee make the acidity go way up and that’s all you taste and the maltiness is not there to back it up. A classic example of when not to put the coffee in the the brewing process.
