Best polish RIS for sure. Aroma of coffee and dark chocolate. Nicely hidden alcohol. Bitter-sweet and smooth.

A great achievement by a young Polish brewery, Mr. Hard’s Rocks RIS is a perfect representative of its own genre. As with Pracownia’s barley wine, the palate is perfect: smooth, thick, oily and inherently drinkable. The head also seems fuller and larger than in most IS’s. A great aroma and taste typical of a RIS complement the standout features and make an excellent, harmonious beer.

A very good RIS from young brewery. Very good balance, roasty but smooth. Alcohol stays hidden.

Bottle. Roast, old dusty books, tobacco, coffee, nuts, chocolate and vanilla in the aroma. Hmm, chocolate&coffee icecream in a wafer, partly. Very full, sweet, with low carbo. Desert-like, again that chocolate&coffee association in the flavour. Coffee, nuts and roast in the finish. The roasted bitterness manages to completely clean the palate of the initial, strong sweetness. The alcohol is well hidden. Monumental yet balanced beer. Very chewy. Excellent.

Black, some tiny hint of red glints through the narrowest point of the glass, but basically black. Tight tan head. Lovely roasty aroma, really dark. Beautifully soft taste - there’s a massive burntness, but it’s so mellow, and tons of esters. No sign of over 9%. The later aroma is more grainy. Slips down more easily than the previous 9 beers of the festival. A great Impy. Finish even better after it’s started to warm - more coffee, reminds me of the coffee Fabio used to whip up with a bit of sugar from the first runnings from the pot. Great!
