Bottle. Pours dark brown with ruby hues and a tan head. Aroma of extremly subtle brown sugar, toasted malt, faint hints of chocolate. Flavor is much the same with a light sweetness and mild hop spicy flavor. Light-medium body with high carbonation. Overall, is ok.

I went surprised by this one, which is much better than other lager beers. It pours dark with a balanced and dense brown head. Also, it is a good choice to have with some beef as I did.

Good to see a new tmavý at the ol’ liquor store. This one is pretty decent but I think might show signs of being packaged in a green bottle. Oh well, I will take what I can get. This one is has notably nice roasted grain character, rich in chocolatey. It is bit on the sweet side and shows some signs of oxidized malts that don’t necessarily ruin things but aren’t exactly pleasant either. This is a medium bodied beer w/ moderate carbonation--pretty down the middle for a dark lager in that regard. Overall, it is nice to get to try a new beer of this style but this really isn’t going to be blowing a lot of minds.

Bottle. Dark brown, small off-white head. Bit of chocolate, roasted malts and hints of plum liqour in aroma. Sweetish taste, too sweet actually. Some dark fruits and hints of chocolate in the end.

Bottle, 50cl. Pours dark amber, and settles dark in the glass with an beige head. Sweet roasted, mildly burnt malt aroma with ripe, dark fruits, coffee and caramel. Flavour follows the nose, initial sweet, roasted malt, raisins, figs, coffee and milk chocolate. Ends dry, slightly bitter. Light-medium body, silky smoothness on the palate, perhaps just a bit watery. Bit boring, but still quite all-right.

Bottled 500ml. -from some bar in Brežice. Dark amber/brownish coloured, small off-white head, burnt caramel in the nose. Sweet malty, caramel, milk chocolate and notes of dried fruits with bitterish sweet finish. Overall too sweet, nothing special here.

0.5l bottle, that hostel in Brežice near the fest, thanks Ogi! Poured a brown/amber dark body with a small off white head. Pungent, sweet aroma, raisins, malt, cardboard, creamy, lactic. Typical. Mild taste, huge raisins, dry, vaguely bitter, finishes slightly dry & bitter. Slightly messy stuff but kinda interesting and not really that bad. Probably the same as 1795, but seemingly better now than when I had that.

A malty delicious czech lager with a fair amount of sweetness. A needed respite from a hop saturated market.

0,5 bottle. Dark brown colour, medium head. Some light hop and strong caramel/coffee aroma. Liquid is hazy. Very heavy sweet, light bitter taste. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Abrupt finish. May be average dunkel, if won’t be such sweet.

Sample at Winking Lizard. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium foamy beige head that diminishes steadily. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of roast malt and caramel. Light-bodied with flavors of grainy malt, caramel and a bit of coffee. The finish is roasty with a short malty aftertaste. Barely average overall.
