33cl bottle @ home. Almost pitch black color, slightly red glare coming through. Small to medium sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, slight hint of smoke, light to moderately roasty, a hint of earth and light bitterness. Finish is medium bitter. Medium carbonation, medium to full body.

Brown, flat, no head. Aroma has roasted malts, candy and caramel. Slightly bitter taste, with coffee, mocca. Medium bodied, fairly good. For me not reaally a bock but more an imperial stout. Nice.

Dark brown body, quite clear I think, with foamy, soapy light brown head. Toasted aromas, earthy yeast, dark fruity notes, apple butter/syrup, dark malts... much richer than expected. Full bodied, syrupy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Burned favours and a strong hop presence. Wow, did not expect this at all. And even more so intrigued by the ’burned malts with carlsberg yeast’. Packs the fruity, rich flavours of an ale with the spicy, earthy ones of a lager. I haven’t been much impressed with this brewer before - usually just okay - but this is quite a step up. Well done! (33cl bottle, from ABC beers)

Bottle @ home. Aroma is big caramel, some fruits, some roast, touch of yeast. Flavour is some roasty malt at first, then some fruity hops and yeast, then some caramel malt and followed by a light bitter roasty finish. Nice.

The head is medium, the body black. It smells roasty, a bit alcoholic. The taste is roasty, malty, creamy, alcoholic-creamy. Overall interesting. 11/12/12/11/-/11

On tap @ PINT Bokbier Fest 2012. Black color, soapy head. Aroma’s: heavy roast, coffee, hints of cooked vegetables (not detectable retronasal). Flavor is rather sweet, roasted. Body is medium. Finishes with more roast, bitter, laurel. Nothing to do with bockbeer, and no balance between aroma & flavor, but still rather nice.

On tap at PINT BBF’12. Black colour, light beige head. Aroma of hard roasted malts, Belgian chocolate, coffee, tar, laurel. Flavour of liquorice, sweet coffee, laurel, roasted malts, roasted bitter and sticky finish. Medium-bodied. Really nice, but hardly a bock.

Bottle shared from ABC Beers. Pours almost black with a bubbly tan head. Aroma of burnt malts, dark chocolate and a little caramel. Flavour is fairly heavy sweet, a little fresh and sugary with a light bitterness hidden behind. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

33cl bottle from ABCBeers. Thin tan head. Almost no carbonation. Burnt malt aroma. Sweet. Fairly nice brew. Different.
