3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled from Lekker Bier, as Oerpilsener 5.6%, BB 12-12-2014, large sample, served in a shaker. Almost clear yellow to golden color, huge white head with quite dense lacing. Aroma of lots of noble hops, slight grassy, bit spicy, hint of butter belonging to the style. Medium grainy bitterness, slight sweet. Not perfectly clean and crips, but getting close. A bit too caramelly and a bit too much off-flavors perhaps. Still, I like it.

Bottle shared with dEnk. Very hazy pale yellow color with a lot of yeast residu floating in it. Smell and taste is lightly malts, surprisingly hoppy, nicely bitter. Actually a lot better than expected.

Thanks to Deanso. Amber with a thick lasting, frothy, super lacy head. A bit of fruit and veg smell and undertones of pale malt. Medium thin body. Taste of sweet fruit, lemon, apple, grape, with a lager malt finish. Drinkable but does have a bit of that hay pale lager in the finish.

Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is a bit citrusy with some wheat, bread and mild floral notes. Flavour is very similar with a quite strong sweetness to it. Also some mild grassy and hayish notes.

At first taste a bit foamy or soapish but there is a long aftertaste which is pleasant. Can taste coriander and decent amount of hop-bitterness.

Bottle @ home thx to joes. slightly hazy yellow with a small white head. Smells malts, herbs, sweetish. Lots of herbs for a pilsener. Tastes quite sweet, malty, herbs again, green twigs/leaves. Thin to medium body, fizzy carbo.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very hazy orange body with creamy off white lace. Not what I expected, but nice looking nonetheless. Light malty, orange juice, bready, sugar and banana candy. Not much hops. Fairly refreshing body, light bitter. Mouth filling texture, ending is a bitter harsh. Enough character but there’s an dry taste to it, mostly in the middle, that makes it not as drinkable as I would like. It’s pretty nice. So it’s not as flavourful as many (modern) blond brews nor as drinkable as a standard pilsner, so although a nice beer I can’t see myself drinking this too often. (33cl bottle)
