5th April 2011 Bottle from Bier Koning. Cloudy blond beer, tidy white head. Softish palate, semi dry and smooth. Sweet malt with a streak of honey. Tangerine and orange. A light touch of brandy! All very well joined up and delivered with smooth creamy malt. Finishes semi dry. An unexpected treat!
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 HermanW (979) - Coevorden, NETHERLANDS - MAR 4, 2011
0,3 liter fles. Meer alcohol als de praght triple. Hij is goed Ook het schuim blijft mooi staan. Dit is toch uniek bij zulk zwaar bier.

Bottled@Tuulensuu, Tampere. Slightly hazy orange colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, some yeast, mild grass, earth and sweetish notes. Flavour is fruits, some grass, and some mild alcoholic sweetness. Yet it’s very balanced and fullbodied.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 sayravai (4654) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 5, 2010
(Bottled) Opaque amber with a smallish, firm and lasting, lacy head. Sweet and grainy-malty nose with fresh fruitiness. Flavor is sweet, very fruity, and overall very mellow with low bitterness, but with also some homebrewish touch. ABV very well hidden. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. A quite nice and balanced Belgian Strong - Barley Wine hybrid, despite the slight homebrewishness. This is a solid brewery. 5436
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 thewolf (9849) - Kolding, DENMARK - APR 27, 2010
Bottle, bought @ ‘t Arendsnest, Amsterdam.
Pours light hazy orange with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, vinious, lots of green apple, light citric and some sweet malts. Medium carbonation, okay dry, oily mouthfeel. Flavour is very malty, grainy, sweet, vinious. Just a little too much sweetness and alcohol for me.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 altonbrownd (4208) - Brussels, BELGIUM - NOV 29, 2009
Bottle from Bierkoning. Light brown body with sizeable head. Quite yeasty nose with sweet honey and citrus as well. taste of honey, malts and citrus. The taste is fruity but also spiked by spices and high ABV content. Quirky, sharp finish.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 dec23 (52) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 24, 2009
This beer came in a bottle containing a decent amount of yeast residiue. The smell carries a honey note and hints of fresh citrus. The taste is round, malty, honey tinged and smooth. It lingers on the palate but not intensely, just preparing you for more. I never tasted the 11% alcohol. This beer reminds me a lot of the style DeGraal manages to pull off ... brewing strong beers that sneak up on you by their insidious smoothness and soft taste. It was both a sad and a good thing I only had one bottle of Zware Blonde this evening.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bierkoning (8947) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - JUL 15, 2009
Bottle. Orange blonde, cloudy, tiny chunks of yeast. Very soft lemon aroma, surprising for such a strong beer. Malty, alcoholic flavor with lemon. Velvety but also prickly mouthfeel. Clean and absolutely drinkable, but surprisingly low on aroma and flavor.
