Oily black color. amazing stout aromas. very nice taste, some roasted malt but for sure some chilies in the aftertaste. very nice beer, even though the pepper is not my favorite thing in a beer.

Deep pitch black coloured body with a rich, thinnish brown head, about a centimetre tall. Aroma of roasted malt, vanilla, caramel, toffee, coffee and a hint of chiles. Full-bodied; Strong rich malty flavours dominate with vanilla, pit fruits and milk also show through and hints of coffee and warm chiles is still around. Aftertaste has hints of all the rich and pungent notes with some softer sugar and spice notes as well. Overall, a nice imperial stout that is full of flavour and robust, while not overpowering with chiles. I sampled this 8 ounce snifter for US$7,00 on 12-September-2014 at TapWerks in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

This beer pours an opaque dark brown color with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Sticky partial rings of lacing. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee and peppers. Full-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, oaky vanilla and subtle chili peppers. The finish is a mixture of sweet cocoa and mild spicy peppers. Good beer all around.

Black with espresso head. Aroma is chocolate, chilli and espresso. Fruity, but surprisingly light palate. Aftertaste is dry, espresso, metal, leather, dark chocolate and chilli. Overall: easy drinking imperial stout. A little hyped. Too much chilli.

Aroma of coffee, chocolate, and pepper. Taste is straight up coffee, with some hidden light milk chocolate, this version is in my opinion the worst of the Bombs, it lacks mouthfeel, especially compared to Pirate, and it’s roasted malt level is a bit lower, and instead invites more hoppy and grass-earthy type of feel to it, with a licorice touch, I don’t get any Vanilla on this one.

Poured deep dark, virtually black with a dense beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roast malt and chilli. Full body, flavour as the aroma, vanilla smooth, light coffee. Very enjoyable and not as extreme as I expected.

Pours a deep brownish black from the bottle with thin ring of tan brown head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma is nice smoky malts with big roast, hint of vanilla and spice. Taste is more balanced, smoke goes away and gives way to the vanilla and cocoa. Nice and easy for the abv, but still nice warming on the way down. The even more Jesus is possibly a better base than the original bomb.

Bottle at home. Jet black, light tan head that holds well. Fair bit of material in the bottom of my bottle. Roasty, bitter dark chocolate aroma, like sniffing cocoa powder. Oily palate, very light carbonation. Deep chocolate flavour, coffee, cocoa powder, slightly creamy vanilla notes. Good beer.

@ Beer tasting, Havregatan 141206. Roasted malty and lots of coffee and chocolate, some peppery notes, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is tart with coffee.

Poured from bottle into tulip. Aroma of roast and some chocolate, but mainly dominated by chilis. My first impression of this was pretty ambivalent. There was lots of chili and not much else. As it warmed up though, it revealed itself. Lots of chocolate that balanced out the chilis. Not much in the way of vanilla, but the beer was still quite complex. The 13% was barely noticeable. An excellent beer.
