4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Viscous black pour with burnt wood brown head. Chile is big upfront in the nose with cacao and acidic coffee with an earthy dark grain and burnt sugar. Roasty and earthy with burnt sugar and chile on dark chocolate. Molasses and dark grain bitterness. Medium full bodied.

12oz bottle shared by Ryan. Really big chili/chocolate aroma. Solid World Class stout. Pretty phenomenal balance. Oily beige head. World Class. Big vanilla coffee tones. One of the best stouts I’ve had. Perfect.

Bottle. Big thanks to Buckeyeboy. Lovely pitch black with a great looking milkshake head. Big coffee nose, bit acidic, some chili, roasted malt, spices. More additives coming through than stout. Flavor is more chocolate, berries, roast malt, coffee, vanilla. Quite tangy. Very peppery finish that balances the sweetness quite nicely. Good.

I had this alongside Bomb! and Bomb! was much better. Maybe I got a bad bottle after seeing other reviews, but all I got from this beer was an unpalatable burnt coffee bean. Smelled great, looked great, taste - not so much. I didn’t get any chile flavor that others mentioned. :/

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2015 On tap at Monk’s Kettle. Pours pitch black, decent very dark tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and a bit of chili peppers. Flavor is vanilla, oak, chocolate, coffee, and a little bit of chili pepper in the back of the throat. But more mild than in the Bomb. Coffee bitterness finish. Fantastic.

Rating 6400! 1/7/15. 375mL bottle saved by cbfobes for me! Black pour with a nice tan head, good lacing. Nice aroma, some ashiness, char, lots of vanilla, chocolate. Awesome flavor, chocolate, vanilla, plenty of pepper, roast, and more. Yum!

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, from jsquire, poured into a snifter. Coal black with small light brown head. Aroma is nice coffee, thick body, medium carbonation, and little small-bubble lacing. Taste is coffee, dark chocolate, chilies, and vanilla. ABV is well covered, however the chilies does not meld with the rest for me otherwise pretty good beer.

Hugely chocolate, like milk chocolate covered... everything. Okay, some raisin as well perhaps. Bit sweet at the start, modern bitters, and more chocolate. Oh my this review is a bit one sided, innit? Okay, so there’s alcohol too, in the end. Damn yummy, but yeah, too much alcohol heat in the end, even though I generally like that. No retention and no lacing. Smells of chocolate, spiciness and vanilla. Tastes of chocolate, peppers and vanilla. Sweet aftertaste.

Poured into a teku showing big black, oily with half a finger of coffee foam that sticks to the edges.
Bursting with aromas of chocolate and espresso. Supported on a strong vanilla backbone with very slight hints of the wildness from the chili in between.
The palate is light bodied and moderately carbonated. The espresso and chocolate notes immediately take front stage with the heat from the chili appearing in the middle. A refreshing note of vanilla to clears up some of the heat. Finishing on dark chocolate notes and a very noticeable but not unpleasant heat from the chili on the end. Chili plays a bigger role on this one from the rest of the Bomb! series but still well deserving of placing it with the Bomb! pantheon.
