Bottle at Waypoint Public. Pours a coffee black with a small tan head. Nose is rich with a full roast coffee and nice dark chocolate notes. Wonderful full coffee flavor on the entry with a sweet vanilla and chocolate undertone. The chili is really in the finish and is far from over powering but there with a nice twist. Wonderful mouth, creamy with a bit of astringency to open up the buds. Really nice brew.

Bottle from Chester Beer & Wine. Black pour with a small tan head. Plenty going on in the beak, with notes of coffee, malts, chilli and choc. Full mouthfeel. Complex flavour which comprised similar elements to the nose alongside some roast and vanilla. Nice bit of warmth lurking from the chilli. ABV nicely smothered. Great beer, packed full of good stuff.

330 ml bottle from Ammersin Centerstore, Brunn am Gebirge.
Pitch black, oily body, with a quite small, dense, creamy, coffee colored head.
Intense, rich aroma of dry coffee, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, subtle vanilla, some dark fruits.
Taste is as rich, with coffee, wood, cocoa, dark chocolate, vanilla, some chili, liquorice, dark fruits.
Full, creamy mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes roasty, quite dry, slighly alcohol warming, with dry coffee, wood, dry cocoa powder, slightly hot chilies.

Very tasty! A quite typical coffee stout, wonderfully intense, but pretty smooth at the same time, with loads of manifold dark malts. The chilies are only in the background for a slight spiciness. Surprisingly well hidden ABV. Overall just brilliant!

Another fun one for Easter. 12oz bottle pours a dark brown/black with a medium tan head. Aroma is dominated chilies with some light sweetness from the vanilla and cocoa. Taste has a really nice level of sweetness from the vanilla and cocoa balanced with bitter roasted coffee and pepper flavor. Very tasty!!

Keg at CBC Covent Garden, London. It pours a dark brown color with a small mocha head. Aroma is sweet and complex, intense and bold with notes of coffee, vanilla, dark chocolate and caramel. Taste is rich in espresso and cocoa notes, vanilla, port wine, wood barrel, apricot jam. Full bodied with good carbonation. Overall, delicious

355ml bottle enjoyed @ home. Pours pitch black with a quick fading brown head. Aroma is liquorice root, cold coffee, chocolate and chillies. Flavour is earthy and bitter. Full bodied, thick texture, soft carbonation. Finish is boozy, coffee and liquorice root.

The body is the blackest of the black. Even a single, viscous drop dripping from the bottle is an utter dark sphere with an impenetrable opaqueness. Wow! The head has a nice maroon colour, but itís small, not very long-lived and hardly laces the glass at all. The aroma is dry, malty and strong. Itís very dominated by coffee and very dark roasted malt, in additional to chocolate. Finally some dry bark in the back. The flavour is amazingly complex and delicious, with coffee as the main component. The chilli is very gentle, itís just a slightly warming feeling in the finish that goes very well will the coffee. The alcohol is masterly buried underneath layer upon layer of coffee, dark roasted malt, vanilla, chocolate, cocoa and faint fruits. The taste is moderate sweet and the dry-ish, long-lasting finish is pretty heavy bitter. Very pleasant mouthfeel, itís full-bodied and creamy with a rather soft carbonation. A remarkable brew that I might have have liked even better if the coffee had been toned down a bit.

Guess that I am just not digging the Prairie stouts - I am consistently lower than the norms and this is not exception. perfect scores for appearance and palate; but everything else is average for a stout. some heat but not a great part of the beer and the base stout is just there and average - roast, bitterness, blah...

Viscous black pour with burnt wood brown head. Chile is big upfront in the nose with cacao and acidic coffee with an earthy dark grain and burnt sugar. Roasty and earthy with burnt sugar and chile on dark chocolate. Molasses and dark grain bitterness. Medium full bodied.

Bottle. Big thanks to Buckeyeboy. Lovely pitch black with a great looking milkshake head. Big coffee nose, bit acidic, some chili, roasted malt, spices. More additives coming through than stout. Flavor is more chocolate, berries, roast malt, coffee, vanilla. Quite tangy. Very peppery finish that balances the sweetness quite nicely. Good.
