Birra is a light, sessionable farmhouse ale. It is crisp with notes of black pepper and orange and goes perfectly with food.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Supermarket Liquor Fort Collins. Pours a milky, dull yellow orange appearance with a white head. Very peppery, pineapple/ pear fruity, slight banana aroma. Even a bit of dankness from the hops in the nose. The flavor is a bit bready, moderately herbal bitter, white fruity flavor. A fair amount of spiciness. Definitely some pear and dull apple. One of my least favorite brews from Prairie.

Draft to taster. Looks good for the style; a very slightly hazy light gold with thin white head that dissipates into lacing pretty quickly. Smells solid; a nice palance of yeast and spice with a touch of sweetness. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. A solid example of the style.

Tap. Poured clear yellow color with an average frothy white head that was lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy yeast, citrus and spice aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium complex sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Complex drinkable beer.

12 oz bottle purchased at Royal Liquor in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a slightly hazy yellow golden with a one inch white head that falls loosely. Nice lacing left on the glass. The aroma is grain wheat malt, straw, hay, soft herbal and a faint phenolic yeast character. Fresh nose. The taste is the grain of the wheat and malt upfront, turning towards straw and herbal lemon soft bitterness and finishing with the herbal, spice phenol of the yeast. The palate is light bodied, soft active carbonation, and a dry earth softly bitter finish. Really easy drinking beer.

Bottle. Pours with a very mildly hazed yellow hued body with a fluffy white head. Great lace. Aromas are of peppery phenols, mild cardamom, grainy, toasty, lightly herbal hop character, citrusy, orange, slightly candied citrus. Floral flavors, peppery, dry, toasty, mildly tart. Nice zesty citrus, dry esters. Really tasty saison. Floral, grassy, medium hoppy. Dry and easy to drink. Lively carbonation. Well done!

Slightly hazy light straw, almost has a greenish tint to it, under a thin cap head that fades pretty fast. Aroma os light musty farmhouse notes, a bit of horse hair, and a light funky fruitiness. Light and crisp flavor with an almost waxy/plasticky note about it, with some hay and blonde belgian grains. A little pepper on a crisp finish..

Pours light golden color with three fingers of tight white foam. Lots of complex layers of rustic grain, peppery spice and citrus twang. Nice focused refreshing beer, highly crushable with a lingering yeast profile slight lemon peel and grassy bitterness and a crisp dry finish !
