COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Birra is a light, sessionable farmhouse ale. It is crisp with notes of black pepper and orange and goes perfectly with food.

Tap @Churchills: I suppose it’s possible to be let down by a really good beer when that brewer routinely hits em out of the park, and then you "only" get a double. This is a very light sessionable saison with hints of pepper and citrus, but all very very light. Not bad at all, just had to work for it. I’d get it again if Prairie beers were cheaper.

I've had better Samson's, but this wasn't a bad one. Just not as good as others. Tasted a little watered down. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy yellow gold pour with a tall, creamy off white head that has great retention, sustained by a high effervescence and leaves great lacing. Aroma is bread, cereal, peppery spice, dried citrus and tart wheat. Flavor is cereal, bread and doughy yeast up front, followed by some toast, peppery yeast, a little tart tree fruit, dried citrus and finishing with tart wheat and fruity and doughy yeast. Light body, heavy, spritzy carbonation and a fairly dry, crisp, but slightly chalky feel throughout. Good stuff, it’s a little too heavy on the doughy yeast notes for my taste though.

Botlle, 0.355l. Hazy pale golden color with small creamy white head, good lacing, some yeast residue and average sparkling appearance. Aroma is yeasty, not offending cheesy, grassy, citric, grainy with notes of coriander. Taste starts with heavy citric acidity, follows grainy and vinous with crisp and spicy mouthfeel, while sharp hoppy bite strikes at finish. Medium body, dry texture and lively carbonation in palate. Typical hefeweizen aroma and light summer saison taste, good and refreshing...

Expectation: Should be good since I like the style and brewer.
Hardware: 120z bottle from the past into La Petite Tulipe
Nose: Funky hay
Sip: wheat with latent spice (I guess pepper) and slight citrus
Taste: light sweetness
Conclusion: a light saison indeed. Not impressed but not depressed.

Draft. Aroma is a funky saison yeast. Appearance is a hazy golden with a thin, white head. Taste is a earthy saison that also reminds me of a saison/ pilsner mash up. Not bad. Palate is earthy and not thick. Overall, a more refreshing saison than most I have had. Would buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle from Small Batch Liquors. Golden cloudy appearance with a lingering white head and sticky lacing. Aroma of black pepper, biscuits, straw, toasted grains, earthy notes and light citrus fruits. Similar flavor, crisp and mildy bitter with peppery spice and light bready malts. Light to medium body, plenty of carbonation with a lasting, dry finish. Easy to drink.

On tap at Fassler Hall. A saison from PAA? Really? Snide aside, this isn’t bad; sweet with some fruit and spice. Lots of carbonation with a nice finish.
