Birra is a light, sessionable farmhouse ale. It is crisp with notes of black pepper and orange and goes perfectly with food.

Bottle from Mikkellers webshop. Smell is sweet with tones of bananas, wheat and fruits. It pour a bright yellow colour with a slight haziness and a rich white creamy head. Taste is justt wonderful. A very fresh sweet taste which isn’t too much and a slight bitterness. perfect for a hot summer day. Palate is just what you wish for in a saison, thin but very distinct. Overall one of the better beers I’ve tried in this style.

Solid farmhouse ale. The Americans can truly equal the Old Country folk tit for tat. Recommended. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This beer pours a slightly hazy golden color with a large white head, and the light aroma blends sour fruit and Belgian yeast with a touch of spice. The taste is quite sour and mildly sweet with a touch of umami, and the palate fuses medium body, average carbonation, slick texture, and a light and crisp finish.

bottle from a trade. pours with a huge white head, rocky, billowing and lasting. aroma of soft perfume and pepper. taste is rather plain with just a touch of citrus. very smooth and drinkable. phenols and pepper don’t dominate the flavor at all like I thought they might. very enjoyable and crushable.

This is a nice, lower gravity Belgian if ever I had one. It has about as much yeast in the bottom as a first-batch homebrew but it mostly stays in there when you pour the beer out making for a nice, cloudy yellow appearance. The head is exceptionally tenacious, rocky and large. Its nose is light and fruity--bitter orange, a touch of banana--with a strong bread yeast overtone. The texture is nice and light but a bit creamy w/ fine carbonation which serves as a great backdrop for flavors of lemon and black pepper. It finishes w/ some lingering spice and a very slight tartness. This one struck me as bland upon my first taste but grew on me rather quickly and by mid glass it had me almost all together.

Rated from notes taken on 29 Apr 2014 -- This is a great Saison, I think the Prairie Standard is just a nose better than this brew. Pours a cloudy effervescent yellow. Refreshing with a hint of saison funk. Very nice.

355 ml purchase at the Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury (VT) on August 19, 2014. Murky blonde, medium head. Nice pale malt aroma, with notes of dry spices et sweet herbs, a bit of lemon. Spicy orange taste, sour and dry, yet a bit juicy, nice bitterness. Very tasty and under 5%, love it!

12 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with a thin, off-white head. Nice citrus aroma. Tastes mildly sweet at first with notes of oranges. Finishes mildly sour. Crisp and refreshing. A little pricey for a 4.5 abu. Could definitely session several of these.
