Funky aroma. The taste is a little funky but also citrusy. Refreshing. Dry and bitter finish.

Pours a hazy apricot with a thick and fluffy, if not persistent, eggshell head. Strong aroma is yeasty and fruity, the latter mainly pear with a hint of sour orange. Flavor is quite sour, grapefruit being the dominant note with pear, yeast, malt, and bitter woody hops for backup singers. Texture is smooth and fairly firm, if not overly fizzy, leaving a nice grapefruit and subtly malty finish.

Aroma is estery earthy lemon. Sort of like a state farm. Looks fine. Light hazy sunset gold color. Decent lacing. Strong taste. Lemon. Alcohol. Yeast. Wheat. Dull dried grass hops. It starts off balanced then just nails you with super dry grassy hops. Palate is dry. Full body. Smooth. Chewy. I swear this beer is more full bodied and umami than prairie bomb. I loled when I saw the description of this as a session beer because its not even close. It may have low alcohol but it’s so big with big flavors and a heavy mouthfeel. Overall ok... Some fun flavors but too big and not balanced for me.

Cloudy yellow, decent sized white head. Smells citrusy and grassy, with notes of yeasty banana. Flavor is a nice mix of yeasty sweetness and woody, oaky hops. Odd mix of flavors, but really tasty.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/7/2014. Pours lightly hazy bright golden color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, lime, orange peel, pear, pepper, wheat, cracker, herbal, straw, grass, light funk and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and light pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, lime, orange peel, pear, pepper, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, straw, grass, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of earthy yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, lime, orange peel, pear, pepper, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, straw, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.4%. Overall this is a damn nice session saison style. All around great balance, robustness, and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; hazy golden yellow pour with a massive frothy white head, lemon and yeast aroma, taste has funk and yeast profile along with citrus and some herbs.

tmoreau (2563) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - DEC 11, 2014
Shared 12 oz. bottles poured to snifters, showing a cloudy, orangey straw color, with a modest layer of white head froth that expeditiously diminished to a ring & film, leaving spots & strands of lacing on the glass. The aroma began with some light, yeasty funk, lemon & orange, and a subtle alcohol impression. A light breadiness was noticeable after warming, and re-review of the nose. Medium bodied, with lively carbonation that was almost a bit too effervescent, the taste added a moderate and lingering, earthy & lightly peppery bitterness, and light tartness. Bolder than expected after noting the description and abv.

Cloudy straw blonde pour with two fingers of moussey white head. Dry and grassy nose with a light citrusy character. Very very dry with a light grassy bitterness. Actually, it begins to finish very bitter. Lord, so dry and bitter.

Appearance: clear yellow, with three fingers of foamy white head shrinking quickly to a thin collar, with a scattering of bubbles across the surface and lazy jets of carbonation. Aroma; pretty much all yeast up front, with some lovely and delicate saison-like funk, some clear lemongrass notes, some light citrus, just a bit of creamed corn. Taste: soft cereal grains and honey, with some slightly bitter lemon peel and a good dose of yeast. Finish: smooth and a little fuzzy on the tongue, with lingering crackery and yeasty notes, with just a bit of dryness coming on. Notes: Pretty darn good saison. Well-balanced, and hits all the traditional notes, and well. Bottle from Knightly Spirits in Orlando, Florida.

Bottle. Tons of head. Grass aroma. Yeasty lemon zest. Salty aftertaste. More full bodied session
