4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured into a snifter.
3.5 A: Black color. About half a finger of frothy light brown head formed and quickly fell. A short interrupted ring of lacing is left.
4.75 S: Wow, you can really smell the flavors in this without really trying. It’s a super potent spicy crème brulee type of aroma. Cocoa nibs, coffee, vanilla beans all stand out in the open with the chiles adding a spicy heat. The base offers a smooth, supple roastiness, layers of chocolate and caramel, and sweet neutral malts. Really nice nose.
4.75 T: Like the nose, the additives blend magnificently and run the show. The chiles are immediately noticeable with a perfectly complementary level of heat. Nibs, vanilla, and coffee are all running on all cylinders. Sweet overall with a soft roastiness, caramel, molasses, and neutral sweetness.
4.5 M: Heavier medium to heavy body. Good moderate carbonation. Pleasantly creamy and super smooth. Booze is minor and well hidden with a light warming finish.
4.75 D: Really loving this beer. One of the best non-BA beer out there.

Woo yeah! Chile peppers, bitches! On tap at Bangers Austin. Dark pour in a "cute" (read "small") glass. Lots of chocolate and licorice up front. Some dark fruit, maybe a hint of chocolate. And then...wait for it...a mild burn from the peppers. I am realizing that I love me a stout with some pepper burn. Yes!

BOTTLE. Pours black with a slight red hue, zero head.. The nose is a mixture of the peppers, vanilla & cacao, great combo.. Coffee is dominant upfront, good black malt backbone, peppers come through at end of the mouthful, Label is spot on - all those flavours combine perfectly, yet each mouthful can be a different taste.. 3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 22, 2016 35cl bottle. Pours black with almost no head. Aroma is full of chocolate, coffee, vanilla. Moderately to very sweet with a lightly bitter finish. Lots of alcohol. The chili is rightly dosed, giving only a gentle heat in the finish. Nearly flat. I prefer more carbonation. But very dense and well executed.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours black with a tan, lingering head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, alcohol. Taste follows with chocolate, coffee, some spice, molasses, sweet. A good beer, but the price is bullshit. Won’t buy again. Get real, people.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour is a thick motor oil black with a small tan head. Aroma is a burnt malt with some sugar and vanilla. Flavor is at first a chili pepper I did not get in the aroma followed by some burnt malt, coffee and roasted peanuts. No alcohol is detected but you can’t escape the warming this gives you after each sip. This is a well made beer but probably not a $10 12oz worthy beer. Plenty of rich roasted malt, coffee and warming alcohol. This may be an hour sipper and you may get something different each sip.

Tap at The Well, New York. Colour is black with brownish head. Aromas and flavours: Green paprika, dark chocolate, some coffee, some vanilla and roasted malts. I was expecting more.
