COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bomb! is an imperial stout aged on espresso beans, chocolate, vanilla beans, and ancho chile peppers. All the flavors meld to create a truly unique beer. The peppers add just the right amount of heat to compliment the intense coffee and chocolate flavors.

Bottled. Pours deep black. Smells coffee and Carmel. Has a light palate. Has a taste that I’ve never had. Has a upfront espresso taste. A little spicy after taste the vanilla is bold after taste. Exactly stout.

Opaque black. Rich silky, but not too heavy or cloying. Aroma of cacao, vanilla, mocha, roasted malts, malty sweetness, anf faint peppers. Taste is like coffee candy, with clear notes of everything else carrying through just as in the aroma. Really good balance and presence of all elements. Much more drinkable than expected, as most similar beers are more for sipping.

On tap at the Pine Box’s 4th anniversary. Glossy black. Warm chocolate cookies, or candies. Flavor brings a strange baking spice - can’t quite place it - stale nutmeg? Thick. Slightly boozy Tootsie Rolls. Soy sauce. Very good. Not quite what I hoped.

Pours black with light brown head. A strong chocolate, coffee, and vanilla aroma. A great taste of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, malts, and oak. A dry aftertaste from coffee and grains.

355 ml bottle from BeerLovers Vienna, bottled 21/5/15.
Pitch black, oily liquid, with a tiny, coffee-colored head.
Aroma of chili, pepper, espresso, liquorice, cocoa powder, wood, dark chocolate, vanilla, dark fruits.
Wonderful, complex, dense taste, with the same aromas and a great balance between sweet, roasty, dry, some booziness and a medium hot spiciness.
Full, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes warm, quite boozy, medium hot, medium dry, roasty, moderate bitter, a bit sweet.

Very tasty! Quite hot and peppery, but well integrated into the heavy, complex, roasty-sweet malt body, with lovely, dry coffee notes. Drinks quite smooth despite the booziness, which isn’t too overpowering. Really characterful and also well balanced sipper, while not among my very favourite style examples.

Last of the five beers Matt bought back from Sam Diego. Opaque black pour, small dark tan fizzy head. Smell is huge: black coffee, dark lightly spicy malt, slightly roasted chilis, chocolate, vanilla, stone/granite, herbal bitter finish that's astringent/heavy, almost like paint. Taste is dark roast malt, moderate to heavy spiciness, sweet lightly syrupy booze, chocolate, herbal bitterness. Body is thick, bitter, stony, slightly chewy sharp finish. Huge, complex, gets richer and spicier as it warms up, chillis give the nose a nice roasty warmth. Excellent, deserves its high rating.

Bottle from SD at home in HK. Really nice looking - thick black pour with dark mocha brown thin head. Aroma is huge vanilla, milk chocolate, plum-like ancho chili. Lots going on. Taste is similarly complex - huge chocolate coffee bitterness followed by booze followed by chili heat in the throat. Lasting dark chocolate/espresso bitterness with boozy warmth, enhanced by the chili. Palate is rich but a little bit powdery. Wow as it warms it gets spicier. Very nice use of chili. Really good complex imperial stout, only disappointment is texture.

Bottle at home. Pours black with medium beige head. Aroma is espresso coffee, chocloate, vanilla, some roastiness and a hint of alcohol. Unbelievable taste! Sweet coffee, chocolate, vanilla, spices and chocolate sour and bitter aftertaste with bite of chili and spices. Full body, very high viscosity. Huge beer!

Subdued dark chocolate, iced coffee, earthy hops, burnt/caramely malts, and a hint of peppery heat in the aroma. In general not as intense or interesting as it should on paper be -- then again, I split the bottle, which for some reason always results in an underwhelming aromatic experience. Thick and silky mouthfeel. Medium-bitter in the mouth, with the peppery heat blending well with the prickly booze. Residual sweetness from all the barley. Very good, but I need to try it again.
