Bottle to glass. Aroma is incredible. Chocolate, coffee, vanilla and a hint of chilli. All come through in the aroma. Coffee was strongest but as it warmed the vanilla really came through. Coffee is the dominant taste but chocolate is noticeable in the finish. I was missing the chilis but half way through I could feel a little burn. Perfectly carbonated medium mouthfeel. Really well done.

The word here is deceptive. As in, the alcohol is deceptive. Sure, thereís a bit of heat, but man is it hidden. Solid stout.

285ml draught at Smith Street Taps, Singapore, served in a sniffer. Black in colour with a lovely tan coloured head. Immediate taste of expresso and vanilla chocolate with a big chilli kick. A beer to savour - you wouldnít want to drink it quickly even if you could.

Thick pour gives way to a small, short lived dark brown head. Lace is almost nil ceptin for a few small spots hangin around. Viscous and black in color. Nose is peppers first then some roast, hazelnut and licorice, coffee is faint as is the booze. Big bodied and silky on the tongue with a mild warmth from the peppers. Chewy roast malt flavors, caramel and pepper, bakers chocolate and slight vanilla notes. Finish is fairly dry, warming and long. Big brew, better than expected but not a brew i could drink more than one of at a sitting.Quality does not equal the value unfortunately. I,d say where i got it but they would probably hunt me down and shoot me like the sloth that i am. Good dealins though and very much appreciated.

I was really looking forward to an alcohol-heavy ale today. Not only would it be fitting with the arrival of our way late cold front, which could be our first of the season, but I havenít been drinking much since Iíve been on antibiotics. Now that Iím med-free Iím in the mood for a real beer. Anything less than 11% ABV just sounds like a waste of time to me right now. Some rust actually collected just under the bottle cap, which made me wonder if any of that oxygen or oxidized metal got in the beer. Iíve been looking so forward to drinking this for so long that I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. Chili peppers, coffee, cacao nibsÖ you had me at chili peppers. It pours deep, solid black in color with a thin bright, medium brown colored head. The nose is perfect. Strong with a perfect balance of meaty peppers, roasted malts, coffee, and a touch of vanilla, the aroma makes me want to iron it, pull it over my head, and take a dreamy nap. Chocolate and vanilla completely take over if you take a deep enough of a breath and make you forget for a second that peppers and coffee have anything to do with this. Peppers and coffee hit the palate immediately, and notes of coffee grounds and roasted malts go up the nose as the ale pours in the mouth. Thereís so much coffee grounds in the flavor and aroma that after a while it overpowers the chilis and really defines the beer. Itís wet, soft, and not too thick. Alcohol, coffee, and roasted malts dominate the finish while a numbing sensation coats the tongue. I have to admit that I hoped this beer would have a stronger chili pepper presence, but itís probably my own fault that I let this age a year in the bottle after I bought it. Next time, note to selfÖ drink pepper stouts right away! Still, this is a really fantastic beer and it doesnít taste like a 14% ABV beer. The aging helps, Iím sure, to mellow out its naturally sharp edges. The yeast must have been busy!

Outstanding imperial stout. Amazing amount of coffee and chocolate. One of the richest stouts Iíve had in awhile.

Poured from 12oz bottle, pours pitch black with a thin dark brown head and a little hit of lacing, aroma has a good amount of chocolate with coffee coming through and a touch of booze as well, the flavor is almost overwhelming, strong amount of coffee at first with dark chocolate in the finish, the pepper helps keep the sweetness down so itís not over the top, booze is really well hidden, good stuff.

Poured from a bottle it is a dark brown color with a slight head. The aroma is bourbon with mocha. The taste is amazing. Smooth and delicious with hints of bitter chocolate with latte overtones that linger on the palate

From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate and tobacco. Flavors of dark fruits and smoky roasted ancho chilis. Oh my!
