Prairie Artisan Ales Bomb! 13% I heard good things about me his beer through the grapevine and am pleased to finally get my hands on it. Big thanks to Craft Cafe Imazato & Ezo Beer for the hook up. A pitch black with a rusty beige head. The nose is sweet milky chocolate with a huge roasty chocolate ground nose. A very full body massage with roasty coffee, vanilla and chocolate. This is a fantastic beer.

Well then... this is pretty fine liquid. Not 14$ fine but fine anyway. Wonderfully sensually smooth dark chocolate.... soo much chocolate now that this has been sitting in my glass for 2hrs. Amaretto, something gently sweet and something else in the aroma. There was different stuff here earlier but I was too busy doing nothing of importance to note them. Totally smell dem peppers and the coffee has appeared again. Stellar flavour - absolutely nothing in my face - pretty much as mellow as it can get at this level. Bitterness from the deep chocolate which is not as soothing as it was in the aroma. It’s mixed up with the coffee - a coffee that totally takes over and lasts an eon in the permanent aftertaste. Also - unlike the aroma - that quality is big and dominating. The vanilla is muted as is the peppers at this point. They were much more prominent earlier on. Easier to find at the beginning of each sip... sips that are coming fast now.. every couple of seconds between typing. It’s amazing how the flavour gets stomped on by other characteristics that once were silent. I think it’s the fast sips abusing my taste buds. After a long recovery the vanilla appears then gets a swift kick to the choda by the peppers. The peppers then get stabbed in the back by the hard roast of bitterness and coffee; falling to the ground and getting curb stomped by rowdy gangs of mailboxes. The chocolate bailed on this whole fucking situation like the pussy he is.

12 oz bottle, thanks bytemesis! Aroma is mostly chocolate, peppers, and anise; coffee is a little faint, but there. The peppers make this smell quite a bit like chili sauce. Pours deep black with a one finger dark tan head that falls after a minute. Taste is chocolate, chili peppers providing some fairly tame heat, lingering coffee, some soy sauce. Kind of sticky. Sweet and roasty with a little bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is velvety, body full. Nice!

Pours very dark brown with beige head. Very chocolatey, thickly sweet aroma, raspberries, sacher torte. Very very thick mouthfeel, sweet with pleasant sweetness, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, very dark fruits, and maybe a little bit of spice from the chili. Excellent.

On tap at Druggists. An extremely decadent imperial stout and well balanced. Aroma full of chocolate with a little spice. Taste is full bodied cacao, spices malt and a little vanilla. No way you can feel the booze of this heavy imperial stout. Very approachable.

Incredible weightless texture for a beer of this depth. Rich chocolate malt combines with well-integrated spice. The cocoa and mocha flavors become more and more intense on the palate before they melt into a blast of chili pepper that is balanced by subtle vanilla bean through the super long finish, leaving very little trace of its massive abv.

Pours a black body with mahogany highlights. Head is tan and 1/4 inch. Lacing and head retention are good. Smell is of fresh brewed coffee, slightly acidic. Smoked malt and oak are also present, almost like burning wood. As beer warms the chili pepper starts coming through, though I don’t get much cacao or vanilla beans. Hops aren’t present but at 13% abv, alcohol is definitely there. First tastes are of smoked malt, chocolate, and chili pepper. Heat from ancho and heat from alcohol complement each other nicely. Not getting much vanilla or hops but flavor of acidic coffee makes up for it. Mouthfeel is medium heavy, nicely coats the tongue. Carbonation is high for such a high alcohol stout. Head stayed around in some form adding a nice frothy texture. Overall great beer. Interesting combo with the espresso, pepper, and chocolate executed well. Flavors are bold without being overwhelming and alcohol is well hidden for such a high abv. The coffee and peppers really hit my sweet spot, looking forward to having more of this soon.

Pour is black with a dark brown head. Tremendous coffee and chocolate aroma. The taste is a rich dark chocolate sweetness playing beautifully with vanilla beans balanced beautifully by amazing coffee with just a bit of dryness from the chiles. Amazing finish that lingers just long enough, but not too long. Full bodied with no hint of the 13% ABV. Tremendous.

Chili peppers right out of the gate! Followed by the cocoa, dark chocolate and coffee in the nose. Super dark brown color with ruby reddish hues when held to the light. Liquid oily thick viscosity yields a frothy top layer of micro bubbles and spotty patches of lacing along the glass edges. Bold and complex flavor profile is surprisingly simple. Tastes like chilies, then evolving into the sweet chocolate and finishing with the bitter dark roasted coffee. Soft and gentle carbonation allows for each sip to be enjoyed on the palate and finishes extremely well with very little heat from the chilies or alcohol. So easy to drink and no way to tell it clocks in at 13%. To summarize; Bomb! will go down as one of the more amazing Imperial Stouts I have had the privilege to indulge!
