3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Wow, it turns out I had a nearly identical experience with this one to GT2, down to exactly matching scores...nose has a pleasant earthy coffee character but also a bit of a bell pepper note. Taste is this but even moreso, really really earthy, tastes like the coffee flavor has been aging for a while and left behind a sort of unpleasant character, there are nice things here but also a difficult beer to get through even a 4oz pour of. I wouldn’t say this is a great stout, but it might just be a case of bottle variance rather than an inherently flawed beer. Will have to try again.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle thanks to dbuckingham. Black as hell, small tan head that lasts. Big aroma with chocolate dominating, some coffee. Very roasty. The flavor is also big with a lot of the stuff they threw in here - semisweet chocolate, coffee, vanilla. Also some molasses and a touch of menthol on the finish. I wish the chili peppers were bigger, as they’re barely noticeable. Huge, thick mouthfeel. Decent carbonation for the style. Another big "bomb" of an imperial stout. Definitely tasty but nothing too different.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Appearance: Pours an inky dark brown, nearly black with a fuzzy tan ring.
Aroma: Fresh coffee, dark chocolatey malts, pepper oils/essence, alcohol.
Taste: Dark roasted cold coffee. Burnt malts/char, dark chocolate, vanilla bean, finishes with spicy scratchy peppers and bitter coffee.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied. Heat from the peppers. Modest carbonation.
Overall: A very exceptional beer. Deep, complex, highly sippable. If you are put on the spot to recommend a cigar beer, without a blink, say Prairie Bomb!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 fl. oz. bottle. Hueless darkest dark brown, mocha foam fades and rings. Aroma is singed dark roast and dark chocolate. Deep dark roasted chocolate malt taste, heavy and dense, portish, some alcohol heat. Soft carbonation, full bodied, moderately hopped. Wicked strong, over rated and DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys)

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, thanks Mike. Aroma of smokey chilli peppers, vanilla and chocolate. Taste of chocolate and vanilla, roasty and a little smokey. A bit over fizzy. Nice.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thick black, oily small ringed head. Firm musky chilli crunch on the nose. Oaty and Vanilla dusting sweetness. Very succulent dark malt either a sweet crust. There’s a burn but it’s a wholesome seeded burn from the chilli. Not overly rich most of the time, viscous enough. Lingers clean like nappies soaked in vanilla and chillis.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle 335ml @ RBBSG III, courtesy of Omgrich.
