Dark dark mahogany pour with a nice beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma is brett up front with some dusty, herbal, and pine notes as well. Taste is brett, baking chocolate, pine, earthy, some citrus and herbal. Funk and roast aftertaste. Soft on the palate. A lot of layers of flavors. Really nice beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Meddlesome Moth. Black pour with a tan head. The aroma is full of roasted malt and dirt with some light brett notes and a bit of pine. The flavor is very similar. I get a bit of brett with some dark fruit, pine, oranges and cocoa. Very dry. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Primarily, I detect a grapefruit aroma. As it warms the Brett becomes more apparent. An opaque black pour with a rapidly dissipating tan head and spotty lacing. The taste is lightly bitter. Funk, barnyard, wood, saddle blanket, and biscuit with a bitter pine/resin finish and aftertaste. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, complex and extremely enjoyable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared bomber poured to snifters. Although some samples were murky, mine was an initial pour with only a hazed, brown tone, with off white head foam that expeditiously left some swirly film, but better persistence to the curtainy lacing. The nose was lightly floral, spice, tart fruit, and yeastiness that was funky and also a bit meaty. Noticeably hop astringent, the flavor retained the esters and funkiness, was medium bodied, lively carbonated, and very dry on the finish. Interestingly complex.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at the HSC July 4th beer tasting. The beer is a dark brown color with a slight ruby-purple tint around the edges. Medium light beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, toasted malt and tropical fruit. Medium-bodied with flavors of resiny hops, caramel malt, melon and citrus. The finish is fruits and spices with a yeast aftertaste. Above average overall.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours hazy mudbrown w a foamy off white head... Not a pretty beer but that’s ok! Nose is tart and tangy citrus hops... Def a little funk but tart fruits are a main component. The funk comes through a LOT more in taste. Super odd but I love it!
