4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared with Gib that he brought back from OK. Label says a farmhouse beer, but this is unlike any farmhouse you've ever tried. Pours a dark, black body with a tan head. In the aroma, there is a light Belgium funk smell, but not much. Malt and hops are present, but a light fruit smell too. I kept smelling this thing and smelled something different as it warmed. The taste is a cross between hops and saison. Smooth taste. The body is medium to full, but not thick like a stout. More like a black IPA. This is unlike any beer I've tasted, and it is really good.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared late night RBWG. Murky golden-brown pour with a creamy beige head. Poopy brett on the aroma with nips of ripe tropical fruits. Medium sweet flavor, strong brett character, tangerine, melon. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Further brett funk in the finish, light bitter hay, tangerine. Nice beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black bodied, tan head. Light funk, interesting malt profile, certainly Belgian yeast but still American clean in (absence of) sweet fruitiness. Instead a grape character including the bitterness of grape pits. Full enough body, but certainly not thick, also due to the lovely carbonation. Long aftertaste revealing more complexity and an American hop finish of resin and wood. Exciting stuff that doesnít reveal itís true character until more sipping and analysing. Belgian? Well at least with a true American twist, but for the better, certainly! (75cl bottle from Whip In Austin, shared with Mariý!)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A confusing beer for sure, but enjoyable. A Hoppy black saison, or basically a belgian black IPA. Hops and yeast from the start, and cocoa. Unique.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a deep pretty much black with a large creamy/fluffy tan head that left sticky lacing. Aroma of brett funkiness, hints of chocolate, some fruity notes, citrus and floral notes. Flavor of funky brett, barnyard kinda funk. Citrusy notes, very dry. Any signs of roast/chocolate are pretty well hidden. This is an extremely dark beer and they nailed keeping the roast restrained.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours pitch black with a thin light head. Aroma is pungent tropical fruit and light roastiness. Flavor is similar, with elements of roastiness, tropical fruit, and light funk. Somehow all of these really disparate flavors work together really harmoniously. Unique and definitely awesome.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Huge fluffy tan head with tons of lacing over opaque black. No light at all getting through it. Massive Brett aroma. Reminiscent of Anchorage white IPA. Same hops plus Brett in that beer. A ton in the flavor. First interesting first hit of a bit of roast and hop flavors with the leather/basement of the Brett coming through at the end. Long dry finish. GREAT beer.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
750 bottle served in a Duvel tulip
A - Pours black with 3 fingers of sparkling tan foam. Great retention with average lacing.
S - Big brett aroma, funky wood, earthy charred mushrooms, roasted grains, citrus rind, earthy floral, spicy, dried fruit, scalded milk,
T - Hoppy citrus notes upfront, musty roasted grains, some plastic flavors, spicy yeast, some notions of dairy mixed, bitterness transitions from citrus, to nutty, then to a coffee/peppery bitterness, notes of old furniture lacquer, acidity comes out after mid palate and grows turning to a dry and spicy finish.
M - Fuller body with a good amount of carbonation,
While Iím not very keen on dark Saisons, or dark/roasted malts combined with wild yeasts, this is the best Iíve had to date from both categories. The galaxy hops brighten and really pull this through and save it from being a weird combination of odd flavors. I liked it more this time than the first time. Worth picking up if itís in your area.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500mL bottle, pours black with a thick brown head. Nose brings out some barnyard funk, leather, and some roasted malt. Flavour brings out lots of barnyard funk and leather just the same, with the leather really show-casing later on in the palate. There are also some roasted notes, along with lots of brett. Really well-balanced, with zero residual sweetness. ABV is hidden extremely well. Another excellent beer from Prairie.
