3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasted on 9/22/13 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle purchased at Louisville Beer Store. Pours dark, coffee brown with a very thick and rocky tan head that slowly recedes to average lacing. The nose is full of spicy yeast with just a touch of dark chocolate malt and some tropical fruit and citrus hops. The flavor is the same, really focused on the spicy, very dry, funky yeast, with the darker malt and unique hops providing more background. The body is medium with just livelier than average, stinging carbonation, and a long bitter hops and spicy yeast finish.

750mL cork and cage from DrFabulous. Thanks, Jeff! Pours dark brown with a very persistant lacy light brown head. Aroma is wet hay, funk grapefruit and tropical fruit. Taste is bitter grapefruit and tropical fruit hop, thereís also some sour, funk and a touch of smoke. I like all these flavors, but together they donít really do it for me. Glad to have tried it, though.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Craftshack
Pours a fairly dark brown with a huge creamy tan head that persists forever. Holy hopness batman, that is one hopified saison aroma. Earthy floral and spicy hop nose co existing with a slightly funky, sour overly ripe grapefruit aroma. The flavor is light sweet honey malt beneath layers of light funk and tart sour fruits. Lingering earthy hop flavor light chocolate and aspirin in the finish. Medium body with moderate to high level of carbonation and a tart slick mouthfeel. Odd mesh of flavors that did gradually wear on me. Nice to try, but I probably wouldnít seek out again.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, purchased because of the awesome label. Poured a very dark brown with a small head. Smelled like fermented gym socks and paint poured into a bottle of decent dark ale. Taste was sour like most brett beers at first, gradually morphing into something a bit maltier and beer-like. Very dry. I like sour beers in general, but this was just kind of weird. It prompted a discussion about durian. The stuff grew on me as I was drinking it, but I wouldnít want to drink it with food, and I couldnít get through a whole bottle by myself. Points for making something so indescribably different, though. Friend loved it.

Bottle from NHhophead. Dark black pour with with a thick chocolate milk head that laces big time. Dark roasted malt and hops on the nose. Body is full roasted malt and mildly bitter hops. Really strong and straightforward, extremely smooth and balanced.

Shared with a good friend who brought it up. First experience with the galaxy hop that i know about as a full flavor and i thought it was excellent and rounded out the dark malts well. Very enjoyable and wish I had another glass.

Bottle pour. My second Prairie and my gawd, they have the rawest and funkiest brews Iíve ever smelled and tasted. I smell garbage and sweaty socks and I taste hoppy feet! Yes! Iím loving this black farmhouse ale!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle with 1 pint 9 oz of beer in it. Great label. Beautiful looking beer. Opaque black with a tan head that sticks around. Sorry, you guys, but the first thing I get in the aroma is kitty litter. Getting past that, aroma is very earthy, light fruits, and some roast. Very nice to drink. Light, fruity, a bit funky (duh) and a dry finish.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a very dark brown/black, with a large light brown head. The smell is citrus, grass, pine, cut wood, yeast and a whole lot stuff:)! I taste roasted malt, pineapple, coffee, grapefruit and and grass. Extremely complex and good.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark black with a thick tan head. Beyond that I don't even know how to describe this beer. Very interesting. Smells like a combo of a sour beer with a farmhouse ale. Slight tart and hoppy taste with a sour finish. Has a great mouth feel, it almost feels like it coats your mouth if you swirl it around a little. We worth trying, a very interesting beer.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500 ml bottle. Pours black with a huge creamy head that fades incredibly slowly. Aroma is really funky, like no other beer Iíve had. Kinda smells like wet paint and barnyard with a mix of citrus and passion fruit. Taste seems to have a big brett/barnyard aspect but the passion fruit from the galaxy hops comes through too. The finish and aftertaste just reminds me of wet paint for some reason. Thick body and a creamy mouthfeel. Very odd beer thatís probably a love it or hate it type. Iím with the later.
