Bottle. Clear dark, reddish brown head with a thick, foamy tan head that lasts and laces. Aromas of roasted malt, citrus, grapefruit, pine, light bretty funk and some earthy notes. Flavor is roasted malt, grapefruit, light lemon, some earthy notes and pine. Medium bodied, crisp, dry finish.

One funky bottle! Had this last maybe two years ago, remembered how funked up it was and still surprised. Here’s a beer that shows you the barnyard funk flavors of brett. Sweaty horse? Gym socks? Barnyard must? Check, check, check. Like a sheep’s milk cheese that is almost too much but still good. And then mix that up with dark roasted malts to complement. The result is unique. As strong as the funk is (have I been clear?) this is somehow a pretty drinkable beer, a testament to the wizards at Prairie.

A surprising beer. Dark and sour, not the obvious combination. Actually, the roasted qualities overpower its tartness, sadly, but still a really good beer.

Bottle. Surly Darkness 2014. Good beer with a pleasant sourness that wasn’t too strong.

Bottle shared by Bvery at Darkness day. Pours dark brown with big head. Strong sour funk smell with some citrus. Taste of bitter hops not much sour. Bitter finish. Okay beer.

Bottle. Dark murky brown pour with a nice long lasting head. I’m getting Brett and mild roast. This is pretty good.

"What starts out smelling like a good black ipa has a little more hidden under the surface. All citrus peel and dark roast at first, then juuust a little underlying funk which comes out more as it warms. The body is nice and hides the abv well. Flavor is more balanced between Saison like qualities, citrusy bitter hops and coffee. Another wonderful beer by Prairie - just wish they were a bit more reasonably priced."

kermis (5757) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - SEP 5, 2014
Bottle shared. Pours near black/dark brown with beige head. Aroma of major Brett funk, sour milk, elastaplast, tart dark fruits. Just comes across infected. Flavor is moderate sweet, light to moderate acidic. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Not good, just seems infected.

bottle courtesy of and shared with Kermis. Funky aroma. Thick creamy tan head. Clear black pour. Bitter and slightly sour at the same time. Not bad.

Bottle thanks to Darrel, after drinking it I do not know if I should be thanking though. It exploded once opened. Tasted like band-aid and smoke. Could not finish my sample.
