‘Merica is a single malt, single hop farmhouse ale. It’s brewed with floor malted pilsner and 3lbs per bbl Nelson Sauvin hops. The beer is conditioned with 2 brett strains and wine yeast. The Nelson hops provide white wine flavors while Brettanomyces add a juicy quality to the beer.

FROM NOTES: October 18, ’13. A: HOLY FUNKY! The Nelson Sauvin hops give off a really musty white wine, overtly floral pungent character with a funky Belgian yeast mix. A: Pours a very light moderately hazy golden color with two fingers of foam which quickly recedes and leaves no lacing. T: Follows the nose with floral, musty white wine notes, a Belgian yeasty funk with hints of mustard and lemon notes. Lemony and funky yeasty finish. P: medium body and moderate carbonation. O: This saison just isn’t for me, but I can see that some make like the funky mix of strong flavors.

This one poured a hazy yellow color with a white head. Aroma was lots and lots of brett, mild barny smell, and some fruity hops. Falvor was mild fruity hops, think this one is a little old, grassy, ryustic and lots of brett. Damn tasty hybrid beer.

Bottle. Pour is pale yellow and very cloudy. Large white head. Aroma is bubblegum hop with spicy saison notes and light lemon. Flavor is a little spicy up front with floral hop notes coming through next. Then some more spice and earthy notes. Interesting.

Bottle shared at a sour tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Cloudy yellow with a white head. Great funky aroma with brett, yeast, flowers, tropical fruits and lots of citrus. Flavor is yeasty, dry, slightly sourish, with brett, flowers, soapy notes, fruits and a strong hoppy bitterness, quite grapefruity. Medium-bodied. Lovely.

On tap at Barrels & Bottles. Pale yellow appearance with a sticky white head. Funky, tart, fruity aroma with yeast, herbs and light spices. Similar flavor, not too funky. Light soft body with a thin feel and a smooth refreshing finish.

Hazy straw color with a large white head. The aroma has some nice grass and orange notes as well as some biscuit malt, brett character and light funk. The flavor is also very nice. I get some wild, funky brett notes as well as some biscuit malt and orange citrus. The flavor is quite juicy, even though the brett adds some dryness and leather-like character. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Great beer.

500 ml bottle. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a cloudy straw gold color with a frothy couple inch white head that sticks around for a very long time. There’s also a good amount of lacing. The brew smells like bready malt, yeast, grass/hay, pears, funk and some lemon peel. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some green grapes/white wine and some citrus. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s crisp and also well carbonated. The soft carbonation helps make this brew very smooth and easy to drink. ’Merica is a pretty good brew, I certainly liked it. Definitely worth a try if you come across some. $10.99 a bottle.

Bottle at Dadsgiving! Pours a faintly hazed golden yellow with a thin white head. Big and funky with a bit of cheese and musk. Medium-bodied, chewy wheat and sweetness, a bit of funk and sourness, almost spicy and smokey. Weird but rather tasty. Spicy and yeasty on the finish. Tangy and musky.
