‘Merica is a single malt, single hop farmhouse ale. It’s brewed with floor malted pilsner and 3lbs per bbl Nelson Sauvin hops. The beer is conditioned with 2 brett strains and wine yeast. The Nelson hops provide white wine flavors while Brettanomyces add a juicy quality to the beer.

Cloudy golden pour with a soapy white head that slowly fades down to a ring. Strong grapefruit, green grape, funky, dusty, spicy aroma. Taste is very similar with some additional citrus and herbal notes. Dry palate. Another really good beer from these guys.

750 ml. bottle. Pours a cloudy pale gold with a very nice white head. Aroma of citrus, funk, and malt. Taste is lemon, brett, spice, grass, and malt. Loved the balance. Excellent.

750 ML cork and cage. Pours a hazy golden hue with a medium, quickly dissipating head. Nose is HUGE grapefruit rind, tons of citrus, nice saison yeast notes as well, pepper, coriander. Flavor is lightly spicy, some phenolic/brett notes (barnyard, must, funk), little bit of pineapple, the nelson gives some great grapefruit/tropical fruit characteristic. Bone dry, tongue drying mouthfeel with high carbonation. Great beer, insanely complex. Send more down to Texas!

750 ml. Hazy golden body. Fizzy, white head, slowly diminishing. Aroma of pepper, spice, toasted grain, plastic, funk, band-aid. Light floral and pine scents. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Plastic, band-aid characteristics were getting in the way of the other flavors. Otherwise, a tasty saison with some depth to it and one that’s not a spice bomb.

Luckily I slowly removed the cage as the cork immediately tried to slip out. A careful pour into my teku glass produces a two-finger thick, fluffy, white colored head. The beer is a bright gold color that shows a brilliantly clear, pale gold hue when held up to the light. The aroma has a funky hop character to it that is spicy and fruity; notes of cape gooseberry, sweetened nettle, musky Sauvignon Blanc, hugely floral tropical fruit notes, some white pepper notes, and a dank herbaceous character that is more funky fruit than specific herbal notes. The fermentation character adds accentuating musky, musty and spicy notes to boost these notes in the dominant hop aromatics.

Effervescent, and the hop character adds a perceived sweetness up front, the middle is quite dry, but then the hop fruit kicks in again in the finish where it has floral, fruity note that lingers on the palate along with a bitter hop bite. Specific hop flavors of peppery pine, Meyer lemon, and citrus zest up front yield to notes of cape gooseberries, some lychee, ripe Sauvignon Blanc grapes, and a musky, dirty, funky, but hugely floral and fruity tropical fruit character. The body is so effervescent and light; the beer just dances across the palate, is never watery, but is so light that this is dangerously quaffable. Hints of hay like grain, a bit of chewy cracker like character and a suggestion of multigrain bread comprise the supporting Pilsner malt character here.

The hop character here is just so dirty and good, the Nelson Sauvin hops just marry so well to the funky yeast character here; both make the other seem more funky and dirty than they actually are. The body here is just about perfect for this type of beer; I really like one malt, one hop Saisons (I currently have a Vienna malt, Citra hop, Saison on tap), it just really seems to work well when the combination works. A beer that I am a complete sucker for, I am absolutely loving this right now.

Picked this up during my trip to OKC. Pours bright golden with orange tints and white head. Aromas of saisan yeast, light malts, and bright citrusy hops. Flavors of pale malts, nelson hop profile, and bit of yeast and light tartness. Nice body. Pretty good saisan and look forward to trying more offerings from these guys.

Bottle shared at Ale Alpharetta. Now the beer was good, but the label artwork really took the cake. "Merica" formed out of the dudes’ beards was pretty sweet. Nose was a full on onslaught of Nelson hops, citrus with just a light funk undertone. Taste was medium light tart and follows suit with the nose. Just more hops. I have never really had a hopped up saison before and while I liked it, I also found it to be odd and confusing.

Smells like weed and saison yeast. Dry, lime, grassy, strong yeast presence. Healthy carb. Decent, not great.

750ml bottle from Party Source, shared with the local group. Awesome label, as always with Prairie. Clear golden color. Later pours are hazier. Minimal fizzy white head. No head or lace sticks. Nice big tart oaky sour yeasty nose. Great lemony citrusy aroma, very light hint of pepper. Medium plus body. Light, crisp carbonation. Lightly dry in the finish. Nice moderate tart taste, light bitter. Some citrusy hop flavor, nelson sauvin featured nicely here. Gr4eat lightly tart, hoppy farmhouse saison. Awesome long mildly peppery citrusy aftertaste.

bottle purchased at Broadway liquors in OKC April 2013. Damn, i wish i sampled this beer as fresh as i could! Pours bright lite orange with a small amount of haze with a small fizzy big bubble white head that doesnt last very long. just around the rim of the glass remains behind. nose is insane-huge Nelson Sauvin hops here-gooseberry, mustardseed, lite funky notes (yeast), almost smells like there is brett in this beer? Must just be their farmhouse yeast. flavors are all over the place in terms of this hop. THis is a saison that showcases my favorite hop-mustardseed, lite funky notes, lots of bitterness, which is good that this hop has quite a bit of bitterness. body is crisp yet somewhat overcarbonated. I needed to swish the beer around in the glass a bit before the carbonation calmed down. The body is crisp and lite for this abv. Damn this is tasty! Its like prairie standard but with Sauvin hops, which im not complaining about! Fantastic! I want to give this beer higher numbers however, the palate and appearance hinder the score. Flavors and nose are out of this world though! Finish has alot of lingering bitterness, almost like an ipa with hints of farmhouse funk. amazing beer!
