‘Merica is a single malt, single hop farmhouse ale. It’s brewed with floor malted pilsner and 3lbs per bbl Nelson Sauvin hops. The beer is conditioned with 2 brett strains and wine yeast. The Nelson hops provide white wine flavors while Brettanomyces add a juicy quality to the beer.

Golden color with ample head. Smells of horse blanket, coriander, other spices, clove, pepper, soap. A spicy initial taste, with the clove like flavors, gives way to some hop bitter then smoothed out with some malt flavors. Relatively simple but done well. Enjoyed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2013 Tap at Trappist, Oakland. Hazy yellow pour with lasting white head. Loads of lovely tropical fruit in the aroma: kiwi and mango with a nice zesty lime twist. Some spritzy lightly musty Belgian yeastiness in the aroma too. Big lime and tropical fruit zing in the taste, crisp fruity yeast notes, loads of passionfruit and mango coming through. Lovely fruity yeast to finish, with lingering juicy orange and mango. Stunning stuff.

Bottle. Very cloudy straw yellow pour, with a big white head and nice lacing. Guava, great tropical fruit flavor, pineapple, lemon zest, hay, fresh nelson hops, light malt, dry cereal malt, and some brett. Quite enjoyable, Merica, f-k yeah!

This isn’t the most accessible beer, but it is chock full of awesome. The Pilsner malt encourages the wearing of a nice trucker’s cap while the NS hops and perhaps the farmhouse yeast make one wonder exactly how many passports this beer is holding. The hops are intensely bitter, the yeast sports funk and acidity while there is a bit of salty character in the malt. This is a rich, complex, category bending romp.

Awesome funky fresh tropical farmhouse aroma, the yeast and hops really work well together here. It pours a cloudy yellow color with huge thick head. The taste has some great hoppy dry bitterness. Medium bodied, lively and had long satisfying finish. This may be my new favorite beer and I can actually get it in Hawaii , the high ABV is not even noticeable on the palate this beer really is work of art.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar. Hazy orange with a white head. Enticing, fresh, distinct aroma of farmhouse, mild brett, hay, grass, lemon and french lavender soap. Sweetish, hoppy, herbal flavor. Semi dry grapey finish. Wellcrafted, but not as exceptional as the storytelling led me to believe.

Aroma is tropical fruit, malts and big/mildly strange spices. The flavor is tropical fruit, those mildly strange spices and a tangy/earthy finish.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. The pour is a hazy yellowish-orange color with a good, thick fluffy white head that laces well. The aroma bursts of tropical fruit, lemon, and flowery notes; plenty of funky brett; some lavender, hops, as well as alcohol. Wow, this smells just wonderful. The flavors don’t come together quite like the scent does, probably due to its strength, but this tastes really good too. Slick herbal character mixes with fruity apple, pear, lemons. Straw, bretty notes offer nice saison depth; tangy, funky, with a dry, bitter hop finish. Another good one from Prairie. I feel a little cheated by the 500 ml bottle versus a 750.
